"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Spartans have absolutely no way to combat the force. Two force users fighting can combat each other's force abilities, or negate it.

Not having Force Abilities has nothing to do in the outcome of the fight, there have been many instances were normal humans-aliens have killed Jedi.

Jango Fett, General Grievous and lots of Clone Troopers.

In fact, I recall reading about how Jango Fett killed a group of Jedi with his bare hands.

And I call ultimate bull-blam!- one that last bit. Unless they were younglings, but then it's not worth boasting about.

Anyway, let's see, The one Jango Fett killed in the movie, he was distracted. Grievous used four lightsabers and overwhelmed them. Clone troopers had element of surprise and overwhelming numbers.

It was then that Fett would carry out the act that would make him both famous and infamous for the rest of his life and career: using no weapon beyond his own hands, feet, and armored body, Fett vengefully killed six Jedi, including the one responsible for Myles' death.

Taken from Jango Fett: Open Seasons 3

I don't know how Canon the Clone Wars shorts (the old ones, not the current series) were, but in one episode Grievous was able to hold his own against 5 Jedi, which included Ki-Adi-Mundi and Shaak Ti, both members of the Jedi High Council.

uh no, the spartans iiis r not even close to being the same strength, speed, ect of a spartan ii, i cant remember which book it was but when the first reslts of the spartan 2s came ot, they were alot faster and stronger and stuff than they thought they were going to be.

"Were it so easy..." -Thel Vadame.

Shouldn't it be an Elite with an energy sword? Elites are far more skilled with an energy sword than a spartan with a foreign weapon.

Anyway, guessing that both would deflect each other- I am sure the Jedi would win knowing he/she harnesses the force which an elite can not match. If force isn't allowed (lol) I'm still leaning toward the Jedi.

  • 03.06.2011 3:43 PM PDT

It should be a jedi vs that stupid elite Thel Lodamee so that stupid guy can finally die.

If you can read this, that means I'm not a Shaolin monk...

yet.

The ES would hook the LS, and considering the Spartans superior speed and strenght he would punch the Jedi's face off.

  • 03.06.2011 4:22 PM PDT

if the jedi used force speed, it would drain his force, but would put him at least on level with the spartan's speed.

  • 03.06.2011 4:24 PM PDT

ok then what about blue team (with mjolnir amor and any desired weapons) against a group of jedi masters with lightsabers and watever

oh and the spartans have MC (with cortana), N6, Kelly, Kurt, Sam, Jorge, Emeile, Carter, Kat and jun. the jedis have yoda, luke, vader or anikin, maul, oby one, duku, the guy with purple lightsaber (cant remember name), grievous, the guy who trained oby one, and the chansellor

Unless the jedi flicked his saber on and off. Even then, to 'hook' the blade it would have to slide between the energy sword halves, which would be a hard feat in the middle of a duel against somebody as fast as a force user...

If this was a game like JA, maybe. You don't 'drain' your force level...

but using the force does tire jedi out.

It even tired Yoda out in the 3rd movie.

  • 03.06.2011 5:35 PM PDT

thats a bad match.
I was going to make one but this thread is off topic.

It would take a Spartan team of 4 to take down a jedi master I think tbh.

Only more 'extreme powers.' Such as absorbing force lightning.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Like I've said earlier, it's possible for the Spartan to have a chance. If Jango could, then so a Spartan....But then again, Mandalorian Armor is somewhat resistant to Lightsabers.....

  • 03.06.2011 6:05 PM PDT

using force lightning tired out Darth Sidious in Revenge as well, it even disfigured his face.

yet Windu still easily cut off jango fett's head...

There are several theories about the whole disfigured face actually, because as some may know, the dark side tends to corrupt the body and alter it.

but it's unlikely that the Force Lightning was the reason. no other Human hit by Force lightning was physically deformed in the Star Wars movies or in the Expanded Universe after all.

There's also the disguise theory.

Another theory is that Sidious's deformed appearance was his true face, which had been gradually deformed due to the immense dark energies he wielded (a process that has happened to other devotees of the dark side, though to a lesser extent), and that prior to his fight with Windu he had been using some kind of Sith or other technique (like Force Concealment) in order to cloak his true form and appear normal to others.

Jango had no armor around his neck.....

I just play for fun. MLG can kiss my ass.

I would have to say the jedi would win because the energy sword cannot easily parry a "conventional" blade's attack.

Fortunately, Bungie disagrees and says you are wrong.

See my above post for the explanation, I'm not retyping it.

This is one sided IMO a jedi dedicates his life/study to mastering the force and the art of wielding a light saber. However a spartan is dedicated to mastering multiple aspects of war, hence a spartan will only specialize in some aspects of fighting.

In addition a jedi could beat a spartan with an energy sword quite easily, a spartan isn't made for dueling with plasma, not to mention the fact that the energy sword is unwieldly and a ceremonial weapon? carried by elites of higher rank?

And if you think spartan armour would hold up against a light saber you clearly haven't seen the movies. eg. Qui Gon cutting through the blast door in the Phantom Menace. Then there are the video games which also have multiple examples of how easily the lightsaber can travel through objects.

Soi soi soi soi soisoisoisoisoisoisoisoisoi

Spartans are meant to die, hence the name "Spartans" it even said so in the Ghosts of Onyx =O so I think the Spartan would loose.

Well Spartans IIIs where meant to be disposable, hurling their carcass at the objective until it is completed. Spartan IIs not so much after all the armor they use costs as much as a battle group, and you don't incase disposable units in the best suit of armor available.

OT: Jedi would win, I mean the lightsaber is their life, the energy sword is just a convenient weapon removed from a fallen Elite. The dedication, years of training honing their skills with that one weapon. Also as far as design goes the ES falls short compared to the lightsaber.
