Simply, do you prefer the IIs or IIIs and why? Is it because of something in the Halo canon or is it simply personal preference?

EDIT: I guess I wasn't thinking about the SPARTAN-Is. Well, if you like them better, then say so. Johnson is badass, to be fair.

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

We see more of the II's. We get used to them.

I think the III's are more interesting, but you gotta hand it to the II's. They know how to please a massive 21st Century crowd.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Overall, Spartan II's and III's are the same, with the exception that II's get a thyroid augmentation, hence the height difference.

But aside from that and that the III's get SPI instead of MJOLNIR, they are equals.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

Although I like IIIs for their enforced use of teamwork, it's got to be the IIs.

The differences of the IIs and IIIs are the time, cost, armour and the fact IIIs have almost a "beserk" thing, if I remember rightly, whereby they fight harder after sustaining damage. I'm sure one of the books state that, at any rate.

Its in GoO and its only Gamma Company Spartans that were given that particular augmentation.

Spartan-IIs, they aren't massacred in almost every mission they get.

Agreed. I think the II's are way more deadly... in a soldier for soldier way. Spartan II's had way more combat experience. With the exception of Noble Team, almost no Sp III's made it past their first field missions. They were just sent on suicide missions.

The biggest advantage to the Sp III program was that it had a near 100% augmentation success rate as opposed to the 44% of the Sp II program. This made them way more cost effective, but let's face it... can you really put a price on saving the galaxy?

Well, actually both Alpha and Beta had missions before Operation Prometheus and Torpedo respectively.

Alpha had the Insurrection of Mamore, The Battle of New Constantinople, some Operations in the Bonanza Asteroid Belt and 6 other missions before Prometheurs and even then, they lasted an entire week before being overwhelmed by Covenant forces.

And well, Beta had Operation Cartwheel before being sent to Torpedo.

And concerning the whole augmentations progress, the only reason the Spartan III's had a 100% survival rate was because the drugs had already been tested with the Spartan II's and, the time difference, I mean, 20 years is a lot of time to progress in the medical field.

spartan 2's had higher gene selection requirements, so naturally they all have more potential.

Spartans II's as it's what I grew up with.

I wake up to find myself
After all these years
And where all the time has gone
Still seems so unclear

Spartan II's. Why? Because they're better in every way to the Spartan III's. Especially since Ackerson was their progenitor.

The Spartan III's were made newer, but ALL of the II's have more combat experience than ANY of the III's. Including Carter.

Also because Fred. Spartan 104, out knifing Emile since before he was born.

Spartans II for 3 reasons
1)They had that one argmentation that SIII's din't have, the one that makes them a bit more bulky.
2)They have a higher quility gene pool (So they are better by that comparison.)
3)They have been fighting for way longer and are battle hardened.

that's because most of them led civilian lives for longer than the IIs did.

Their missions weren't hard with them relying on their far superior armor and expensive equipment compared to Spartan-IIIs.
