Subject: SPARTAN-IIs or SPARTAN-IIIs?

Spartan II's, every time. Longer training, more intense augments, a better record, more discipline, more experience. It's also arguable that the II's are much more effective than the III's, given the way how Kelly, even though she wasn't running at top efficiency, was able to take out a couple III's from Gamma company with ease.

Spartan-IIs, they aren't massacred in almost every mission they get.

Experience is everything.

Their missions weren't hard with them relying on their far superior armor and expensive equipment compared to Spartan-IIIs.

Master chief destroyed a halo ring and a whole covanant armarda in halo 1.

Just sayin.

With the help of Cortana, the PoA and Flood.

So around 930 Spartan III's versus 33 Spartan II's? I have to give it to the numbers, there hardly is any difference between the two aside from the thyroid augmentation on the height and bulkiness. But aside from that, they are the same beside the armor. Spartan II's can die, just like Spartan III's, that is why there are less than 5 left.

In a fight I'd want both on my side, so Both.

When you need someone who is at least half-decent at Halo, I'm your guy.

Well I can compare...

Spartan-II

High genetic expectations
Risky but very beneficial augments
Expensive
Mark VI got auto biofoam injectors
Intense training
Awfully Hunter-like.
Lifespan of a barded saber-tooth cougar. (Very good)
Too few.
Holy -blam!- a Spartan-II asploded two Halo rings, the Flood, and two parts of the Covenant armada (Halo 1 and 3)

Spartan-III

Cheap
No risk, bit worse than IIs.
Less fulfilling armor
Armor Abilities
Work well in groups
Lifespan of a Marine
Reason ol' Chiefy was alive, and got the Covenant's butt kicked, as well as the Flood, who weren't known from 2525 because no-one got a message out about them from Harvest.

Though few, Spartan-IIs cut the deal. What more can you get from an augmented sabertooth cougar with barding, and awfully good training?

Friends before pixels.

I like how III's have more of a personality. II's are more badass though.

Although I like IIIs for their enforced use of teamwork, it's got to be the IIs.

Agreed. I think the II's are way more deadly... in a soldier for soldier way. Spartan II's had way more combat experience. With the exception of Noble Team, almost no Sp III's made it past their first field missions. They were just sent on suicide missions.

The biggest advantage to the Sp III program was that it had a near 100% augmentation success rate as opposed to the 44% of the Sp II program. This made them way more cost effective, but let's face it... can you really put a price on saving the galaxy?

Well, actually both Alpha and Beta had missions before Operation Prometheus and Torpedo respectively.

Alpha had the Insurrection of Mamore, The Battle of New Constantinople, some Operations in the Bonanza Asteroid Belt and 6 other missions before Prometheurs and even then, they lasted an entire week before being overwhelmed by Covenant forces.

And well, Beta had Operation Cartwheel before being sent to Torpedo.

And concerning the whole augmentations progress, the only reason the Spartan III's had a 100% survival rate was because the drugs had already been tested with the Spartan II's and, the time difference, I mean, 20 years is a lot of time to progress in the medical field.

Something else to add to this, their training. Kurt pretty much gave the III's all the training that he thought would benefit them, taking lessons from his SPARTAN-II training, adding things and taking out other things.

Still, though, the III's were selected from a much wider genepool than the II's, making each (well, maybe not EACH) III a little bit less better to begin with.

There was no less than 47 Spartan II's that actually survived the augments. You must include the II's that were crippled, and then received more surgeries to get them back to combat, and then add on the extra four BLACK members...

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Spartan II's get the job done.

He means like after the events of Reach, were only a limited number of Spartans is left, I'm sure it's among 10 or so.

After the war, the spartans we KNOW are alive:
Chief, Linda, Kelly, Fred.

After the war, the Spartans who are MIA/Unknown locations:
Gray team and Black Team.

So yeah, 11 Spartan II's alive.

And after the war, Tom, Lucy, and 300 Gamma Spartan III's are alive.

I'd prefer the dead Spartan I's.

How can the spartan I's be dead when thay were an exo frame development not a soldier u need to read dr halsey's diary and halo legends.

This Q tho aba weather spartan II or spartan III if you consider it this way.

Spartan II were a devolpment of physical, psychological, and physiological augmentaion to a human. Why thay needed children to experiment as a childs body is adaptable to what ever you do to it why actual spartan boys back in greek days were taken at 7. Trained like these boys from sparta the Spartan II's were put thro mind and body breaking training were a few even died, but the end "product" was the Perfect Soldier

Spartan III were a devolpment of the spartan II were thay found some people would, adapt to some off the augmentaions done to them alot better than others, leading to why spartan III's act in squads. Dr halsey team also refined the way thay did the gentic augments so thay didnt need to use children anymore thay could take soldier's with exceptional skill and Toughness.

So realy thay are all Brothers, so ther equally as BAD ASS as each outher lol
