I recently have been doing some digging on halo 3 ghosts. a lot of the stories and videos don't seem legit, but if halo wiki is right then they do exist.

What I want to find out is if ghosts are active while you are disconnected from your internet, as in signed out of xbox live, or no internet at all, because I think that with some skills a modder or maybe ling lings soul could be hacking into your little forge session just to brighten up your day in forge. if your TV is good and you haven't tampered with your console please tell me if you see anything, tomorrow I'm going "ghost busting" with invulnerability on and a rocket launcher, basically I'll poke my nose into every strange corner on maps that might have AI scripts.

if you are willing to join in just pop halo 3 in your 360 and tell me if you see anything, I will be relying on your truth so please be honest.

sometimes in forge I feel like I'm being watched, maybe I'm just paranoid, or there is a final easter egg for us gamers... Okay that sounds lame, but if you have any ideas or stories please share below!

(I would not blame people for seeing things after 12 hours of halo, and I congratulate you for bravery if you hunt on cold storrage!)

The 'ghost' thing was confirmed years ago to simply be a player who joins the game during a rather intense period of lag.

but what about the AI code left over in the maps? My point is that maybe "ghosts" exist in the game itself. I know this is an old topic, but what if it had to do with the game itself and not another player?

(I do agree with you completely on that they were, for the most part, caused by lagging players)

The thing is, a lot of the best default Halo Reach players and some of the biggest default Halo 3 Matchmaking warriors.

Gotta love those verb-less sentences.

Seems interesting, link me to a page about it please, too lazy to google. I might help

I read elsewhere that it's only possible to add AI in Halo 3 Beta. My guess is that there are no AI in the released version of Halo 3 at all. Even if there were AI, all they would do is do stupid things.

Ghosts are nothing more than players joining a laggy game or modders. I have never encountered a ghost offline and I highly doubt that it's possible offline.
