Subject: Be abol to post pictures/video on Bungie.net.. with a trust system....

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think we should be alol to post videos and pictures on Bungie.net but there are a few "rules"...

1. Only users (honorable+) can use this feature. If you are here this long then you probably are a good Bungie.net member and won't be as likely to troll.

2. If you get a ban/warning, your right to post any pictures will be taken away for a period of time.

The period of time varies from a few weeks/months to never.

Well, what do you think?!?

Please discuss and thank you...

ATTENTION MODERATORS. My latest ban (14-day ban from Qbix89) is not legitimate, take a look for yourself. Please review this before considering me a "repeat offender". Thank you.

I think only Mythic members and above should be given the feature to post pictures and such directly on the forums.

Though member titles may mean little to some members, there is less of a chance of a Mythic member posting pictures of tatas than regular or even honorable member.

What a terrible idea.

Why is it?!?

It rewards older members for spending time here and pictures/videos can be very useful for discussion.

Because titles really mean nothing and do not represent trust for a member.

No one should be given this "feature". Only certain accounts can do it (Achronos for example) and things are all right that way. This is not an image board.

Supreme mastery therefore, is not to be victorious in all your battles; supreme excellence is to be victorious without fighting.

I don't even want to think about what the flood would do with that power.

The system we have now is fine. Iggyhopper's BB inliner script shows linked images on the page if you absolutely have to be able to see them on the page.

A site feature embedding images wouldn't be a good idea. There are just too many people who couldn't or wouldn't use it maturely.

What's the difference between posting a cloud full of links to images and posting direct images?

I don't see a need for this feature either, and I do not see anything wrong with only Bungie members holding its power.

Then they get banned and can never post videos/pictures ever again...

And, you can also get a feature called "picture blocker" on your profile which (upon entering a thread) says "picture: click to view"...

The way I see, you take the risk when clicking links, it is your decision; on the other hand, if the image is posted directly to the post, you are bound to see shock images whether you wanted to or not.

With links at least you can see the link before clicking on it, so you can take a guess regarding whether the link is safe or not.

Canada isn't that important that it needs two of the same threads on page one.

Basically this. It's not like you can't just post a link to the image, as well. Images would just clog up the forums.

No matter how you look at it, a thread with shock images is against the rules. That's when the OP's suggestion comes in. He suggests giving only high-ranked members the power to create embedded images on posts, lessening the chances of someone posting shock images.

Again, I see little need for this feature to be given to any members at all. It's one of the things that makes the Bungie.net forums unique in my opinion. I just thought that establishing the feature for members as low as honorable to use (as the OP suggested) was way too little of a title to give this feature and power to if at all.

I see no need for normal members to post embedded images, though I do not see anything wrong with giving this ability to forum moderators on the Bungie.net public forums, along with giving administrators of private groups the decision on whether or not they or any other members may post embedded images on the group's private forum.

No. And Honorable is too easy to attain.

Besides, use when Iggy found out how to do this as a reference as to why not. It's a bad idea, and it's never going to happen. Deal with it.

Well, it would work out, just because something is different doesn't mean it is bad.

You better close this sig when your done.

I fail to see why anyone would want to post pictures on the forum?

Also Mythic+ should be the only people with the ability. (Not saying that because I am one.) I just don't trust anyone lower than that.

Maybe only Ninjas and employees (since employees already can). I don't find it helpful to view within a thread. Rather than simply linking to a picture of (EX) crazy norwegians or something of the matter.

Example of crazy Norwegians.

See what I did there?
