Ok, first you have to just stand in the Engine room and kill flood. Hours later, when there are about 800 guns piled up on the floor, you go on. This is a trick called Object Overload. You go to where E419 comes to pick you up, and there will only be one Banshee, due to the fact that only one spawned. AND no Elies spawned inside them. Park the 'Hog where the Banshee flies over it. Jump on the gunner, then jump up as it flies overhead, and press X. You will get into it, and be able to fly around.

That's the right room but you won't run out of ammo if you switch the guns w/ Flood, and if you haven't watched the vid above, then do so. I haven't done it, but it took Duncain like 6 hours to do it.

I dont see why you have to kill all the flood, I just played though the maw and the banshee with no rider is there even i you play the level normally.

If you notice on the video, the shutter of the Banshee is lifted up like no-one is inside it.

The thing is, I played the level normally and noticed it anyway. Does that mean you don't need all that fooling around with the guns to Object Overload?

Usually there are 2 banshees with riders in them, at least in my copy.... Those Banshee's always have an open -blam!-pit, since the Elites spawn inside them...

WTF??? We can't say co.ckpit??

Not that I know of. You can, however, use an Xbox Action Replay.

Object Overload is achieved one of two ways

1) Killing your teammate hundreds of times and picking up his dropped weapon (therefore dropping yours)
2) Killing hundreds of enemies and picking up there weapons (therefore dropping yours)

One of the Bungie Dev team explains how this works. There are certain items in Halo which are disposable corpeses, dropped enemy weapons, etc. These are the items that disappear to help make room for new objecst. Well it just so happens they decided not to make any weapon you drop one of these items. As a matter of fact the weapon you drop is on the high priority list of things to disappear last.

So what happens is you drop so many weapons Halo has no more room to load new objects. You know you've reached this point when no more projectiles come from weapons. It literally will take hours in SP to do this. It can be done quicker in co-op because your not dependent on bad guys.

That is my down and dirty explanation.

Check HERE for the official explanation.
