maybe if you press a button, one stick would aim one gun, while the other would control the other gun. but you couln't move while doing this.

To GC13,

So if you are so interested in this topic, then why did you, infact, ignore the issue in the first place by telling me to learn how to quote properly???

And about the whole Halo 1 thing you keep bringing up. I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WHERE TALKING ABOUT HALO 1. My point being, talking about Halo 1 in this thread makes no sense at all. Everyone in this thread has played Halo 1 millions of times, and we all, including me, know that Halo 1 doesn't have a weapon that "magically locks onto enemies", as you stated. So refering to Halo 1 in this topic is void, unrelated, and not senseable. So, taking into account these last few statements of mine, I quite logically assumed that you were talking about Halo 2. Using Halo 1 as a reference in this thread makes no sense.

P.S.
I'm not downplaying your opinion. I'm downplaying the reason you gave for your opinion in your second post.

It would also compensate for not being able to use grenads while holding two weapons... using grenades is how many people get rid of multiple enemies while holding only one weapon Kind of complicated, but it would be no different then trying to walk and aim when you played Halo for the first time, you would get used to it:)

I think it would make things even harder. The whole point of dual wielding is unloading twice the firepower on a single enemy, pretty much eliminating the use for grenades. Now, if you target two enemies at once, you no longer have twice the firepower, and you would be without the use of grenades.

How so Tiny? If, like in Halo 1, you are only allowed to aim at one enemy, then you leave yourself open to any other enemies in the area. If given the opportunity to engage 2 enemies at the same time, and you would have the option to not use this feature, you could basically kill two birds with one stone. This would be especially effective, I think, when you get cornered in MP.

It would not be effective.

The only way it could be effective is if you had full control of both aiming reticles. But, in order to do this, you would have to give up movement, which I wouldn't mind IF I could work the controls in quick fasion, and quickly go back to my single aiming reticle along with full movement.

I wanted Halo 2 to be exactly like the original: Only two weapons at all times. I have my reasons. But I wanted the right thumbstick to be used to raise/lower my secondary weapon for dual wielding. The right thumbstick could also be used to bring up separate aiming reticles (double clicking maybe?), but you would obviously be without movement. You would only be able to duck. Which would kind of suck, but you could just as easily gain movement agiain by double clicking the right thumbstick.. Assuming the double click method was used for stop and pop style action.

Well, there is the d-pad.. Which could kind of be used for movement.. hmmm...

Very well presented Tiny;)

So your saying you would like this as an option if it was effecient and you had controll over both weapons? If so, then we share the same opinion.

I think we all share the same opinion. More power to bungie if they could pull it off, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm not bumping this thread, I just wanted to point out something I read in the Halo2 MP articel at IGN. We, especially GC13 and I, talked about a lock on feature to help with multiple targeting earlier on in this discussion. Well, here is a quote from the IGN article dealing with the whole lock on thing.

Part of IGN Article:
A few of the weapons, including the Plasma Sword and the Rocket Launcher have a new lock-on feature. Keep an enemy in your reticule for a few seconds and the reticule turns a more solid red.

Sounds very much like what we talked about. Wether or not Bungie will allow multiple targeting or not, I think the issue of Bungie having a lock on feature for some weapons is settled.

So, with this info in mind, would you like to be able to target multiple enemies, and of course it would have to be a balanced, efficient feature... not that Bungie would put it in the game if it wasn't:)

I'd be willing to bet my balls that we will never see a lock on feature, as the one you suggested. And Halo 2 owns my balls, so you're not getting them. :p

Yea, I myself highly doubt that the lock on feature, as I talk about it, would be a viable way to target multiple enemies. I'm just having trouble of figuring out how else it could be done, if at all. Planting your feet, maybe, the feature would quickly loose it's appeal. I don't know, I just thought it was worth pointing out that a few of the weapons, as IGN puts it, will have a lock on feature. It wasn't really indept enough to start a whole new thread, so I just posted it hear.

It's the projectile that is locking onto the target, not the aiming reticle. I would hate for my aiming reticle to be stuck/locked onto a target.

Well, not to chew on a old piece of gum, but the way I explained how you would lock on to an enemy was, after the initial lock on only your gun would follow the locked on enemy, with out your crosshair following him. I guess a good way of putting it would be, your hand would just track the enemey until he's dead, out of range, goes behind something for cover, or you have to reload. Your would still have complete controll of aiming your crosshair, which is what your other gun/hand would follow... just like normal. If you wanted to unlock your gun from following an enemy, you would be able to do that to. But, I understand what your getting at. You want complete and utter controll of your guns/hands... right?
