The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I very much doubt they use the same sort of measuring systems as humanity. Has it ever been mentioned what sort of units they use?

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

I have always wondered this.

The metre is a versatile little unit for Humanity, but the odds are that the Covenant uses something completely different.
Who knows, we may never find out.

I assume they use something similar to the Forerunners since they basically worship their architechture.

I'm sure it has something to do with the hexagon as it is on almost everything they use from Weapons to battle ships.

Given how completely arbitrary the measurement of a meter is, this would be as ridiculous as if they were all bipeds with a sensory layout identical to humans.

Oh, wait.

The covenant's unit of measurement is called the flopnap. It is equivalent to the distance that light travels in one microsecond. That equals 299.79 of your Earth meters

It says they measure time in Units and Cycles, with Units being like minutes and Cycles being hours, but I'm not sure if it works out exactly the same.

I think this is the only mention of any measurement standards in any of the books. There may be an obscure reference to a measure of distance at one point, but I can't be sure.

1 meter - 2 elite feet (length wise)

In every other science-fiction series they all use the metric system. So the Covenant may use the metric system as well.

But the USA still uses the Imperial system...
