Well I wish for Bungie to create another game similar to halo 2 and one thing I would need to see in that game is sped up game play. Lethargic but accurate is not for me. I like fast pace, if they need to add auto assist and larger hit boxes. This would prevent slowdowns in gameplay to incorporate accurate use of weapons.
Something about CE that they didn't need to address was lag because it wasn't a online game and the only way of doing that (to have CE online) and be accurate is to slow it down so lag won't make it clunky.
I agree they tried their best to hide this by incorporate more things in the environment (more things to do) but it doesn't compensate for the lack of movement speed. I especially despise grenade throwing in reach. Slow lobs are not what a super solider from the future would throw; they wouldn't walk about like giant mammoths either.
To someone that hasn't played Halo 2 for a long time it might sound like I'm splitting hairs but to ones that have, it should make sense as being a pretty big issue if not they might be shutting off their mind to this idea.
All I must say is H2 "felt" to me much faster and not sluggish and the opposite was true for halo's following halo 2.

The pace in the newer sagas are emphatically sluggish in comparison. I am actually surprised somebody noticed however, because they weave little mind tricks into the game to prevent just this. In example, greater features, more vibrant than previous, causing the average gamer's mind to multi-task.
Every time your mind is called upon to do more than one thing, a little bit of focus is taken away. Thus, subverting you from minor flaws such as lag, for instance.
Because it is so small of an alteration, I am a bit surprised you noticed, however, it is also true that our subconscious minds get accustomed to things like sense of time. Although to many, this sense is not made apparent, a disciplined mind may pick up the clues, such as yours, I see.
This can also be noticed throughout the campaigns as well. (Time yourself; be astonished.)
Although I fail to see the effect of discussing it, I do agree with you completely, Sir.
