Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains.

The gameplay was fun, but the story was just dull. I thought all the characters were boring except for Jorge (and even then he still wasn't as good a character compared to many others in Halo games).

I just play for fun. MLG can kiss my ass.

I don't give a damn anymore about what people think of Reach, IMO it was a good game.

Kat's death did not have a single effect on Carter at all.

Not entirely true. At the beginning of "The Package", when Colonel Holland was trying to get a hold of Carter, Carter's reply sounded a little depressing.

Part of it was that I feel that the characters of the book (the spartan-IIs) were so much more interesting than noble team. I was hoping bungie could create characters as compelling but it the end it just feels like awesome people like fred kelly and linda were denied their chance at having a great game made about them, and isntead we get noble team...not a worthy replacement.

I think part of that is Fred, Kelly, and Linda have appeared in more media up to now, and they've been around for about 10 years, meaning they've had more time develop their characteristics and personality, so it's only natural that we'll be more attached to them than a bunch of newcomers. I agree, Bungie could have done a little better with Noble Team, as the only one I really identified with and mourned the loss of was Jorge. But I didn't think the characters of Reach were particularly awful, just a little flat.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

another issue with reach is the fact the details surrounding NOBLE team were never explained despite bungie stating they would be.

In other words we don't have a backstory for them despite it being a "stand alone game".

I don;t like the campaign as much as the others because all the main characters die. I only play the first five levels since the spartans are all alive in them.

in my opinion i wouldve perferred a Halo 4 than Halo Reach mostly because i want to advance the storyline

I don't remember Bungie saying we'd know everything about Noble Team in Reach...

I found Halsey's journal to help blend the canon together. Reach pretty much added to the canon, rather than break it. Either way, it was a good written story ( The characters could have been a little more developed, such as Jun ).

Character development can always be added. However, I doubt we'll see as much in a FPS as opposed to if Halo was released as an RPG of some kind.

Yeah, most FPS sorta games I've seen don't do all that well with character development, I think for an FPS it works best across several games or something like that.
