i know your tired of hearing about it, but just one more suggestion that i odnt think has been brought up before, im sorry if it has....one of the mods or 'content monkeys' should make a sitcky post in there and in here, maybe lock it, outlining the basic and most commonly broke rules, not all of em, that way its not too much to read, the thread should also tell people to stop flaming and name calling and how to deal with people who do without lsoing your rag, then if osmeone does something wrong anyway you cant say you didnt warn em! to make this stand out even more, title it ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! or IMPORTANT NOTICE READ NOW! i think this would help the problem, and would mean rule breakers cant escape with lame excuses (but i didnt know the rules! will no longer be accpeted) who else thinks this is a good idea?

I just wonder how much attention they will truly pay to the rules. Probably most know the rules., they just don't care.

We could easily make a sticky for each rule that's broken, but it seems to me like having the first page of the forums loaded with stickies isn't exactly good forum management.

We have the rules you listed in a sticky on the forum. If people break those rules, it's because they didn't read the post we've given them. While I think it's important that we make the rules of the forum known, I'd like to think that the forumites can take a little of the responsibility and actually read the rules. =)

One thing that needs to be fixed though is the locked icon next to those. I mean, of course you don't want people replying to those, but people see it and they're probably thinking it's a locked topic not even worth looking at, just at a quick glance. There should be a special icon for forum rules or Moderater announcements.

bah

I think the main problem is that the kind of people who break the rules don't like reading a ton of long explanations. That's why when I make lists of things, I do it in two parts. The short version up top, and the long versions on the bottom. Odds are, most people will know what bumping is, so I'll say "Don't bump posts." Then at the bottom, I'll have an explanation of what bumping is and why it's wrong. The mods might want to consider taking this approach. Not that I'm telling you how to do your jobs or anything...
