Sorry, my bad.

  • 03.12.2011 3:26 PM PDT

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

SHUT THE -blam!- UP BRUTES SUCK

What we have here...is a typical troll who loves Elites and hates on Brutes

Notice the low IQ, and the full caps-lock.

This behavior is indicative of an Elite fan...someone who is such a xenophile for Elites, he/she will descend into a fit of madness over any comment insulting the object of their personal desires.

Elites never said anything funny during combat.

Oh no...I did.

But If I wanted to stand around allied Elites and wait like...27 minutes for the one funny thing to come along...I would.

But I am strictly speaking as enemies.

In Halo 1 and 2 and Reach...all Elites ever said was WORT and WHAHHHH...

In Halo 3 and ODST...Brutes have more personality...they actively say more during battle. Brutes also say WHAHHHH...but they say a lot of other stuff too.

WTF

I would say in the domain how how the Halo Franchise works...I know more...

But yeah...the Elite in ODST video...I only died once. But you can see the vast difference between the AI Marines and the AI Elites.

The Marines fight back. The Elites flail around like children...scared to fight one Brute.

Just saying...that in a real environment...the Elites are very ineffective...and without the brutes...Halo would be close to ruined.

By the way...I have voted conservative in the past 3 federal elections. I am a Canadian in case you didn't know...I only vote conservative.

WTF ? You're using game mechanics and AI to tell which one is better ?
What are you smoking ?
Here are your marines and odst being dominated by said elites.

After the brutes become leader less, they start getting beaten by the elites.

If you switch weapons with them a lot, then they get pissed and say some stuff that's pretty damn funny.

Absolutely...but like I said...I am not gonna stand around to hear funny dialogue when I can actively hear it while playing and progressing the game.

I've never really heard anything funny from the Brutes when I fight them, things like "I found my dinner!" and "The Pack will feast on your flesh, Demon!" is not really that funny :/ It's about the same as the combat dialogue the enemy Elites in Halo 2 have.

There are many more but I have forgotten most of 'em due to not playing anytime recently.

But I used the term entertaining. (I also used the term funny, but I think entertaining was a better term than funny). They interact and talk back more.

With no "Arbiter fights the Brutes" side plot eating up its production time, Halo 2 manages to have a complete, satisfying story in addition to being a wild multiplayer success. This gives Bungie room to experiment with plot and character concepts for Halo 3, which becomes an involving story that creatively explores what it means to be human and brings attention to the blurred line that separates the living from the nonliving.

The game's deeply moving plot is regarded by many to be one of the greatest tales ever to be told in a video game, and is remembered for years as the game that helped change the public's view of gaming from a geeky pastime to a legitimate art form.

I hate Brutes.

Did one of them touch you in your special area? Do not hate...forgive! Forgiveness makes the world a better place.

War does not determine who is right, only who is left.

I think that if the Brutes didn't exist then the war would never have happened because of the events in Contact Harvest. The story would be ruined, but i think gameplay would be be fine because, to me, fighting Brutes just gets old, considering the brutes always use the same strategy, charge and shoot. I would rather fight the Elites.

Elites use the same strategy in Halo Reach. Run and shoot.

Do you know how many times I have seen Ultras just run into the field and charge at you, not even fire a single bullet, and just try to go for melee?

And to say the war would never of happened is bullocks. It would have happened, just taken a different shape.

The Elites would have been sent to Harvest, and eventually the "Holy Ones" would have ordered the destruction of humanity. They would have made a different lie, one the Elites could buy, and the Elites would go nuts, in spite of any doubt.

You could argue, theoretically, that if it wasn't for the Brutes, The Elites would never of left the Covenant, and EVERYONE in the galaxy would have died.

Let's all thank the Brutes for saving the Galaxy.

  • 03.12.2011 10:36 PM PDT

To be honest, I never really liked Brutes.

It's funny, because the Halo Encyclopedia says that they were just re-learning radio waves when the Covenant found them, since they were stupid enough to start a civil war that sent their technological level of achievement back a few notches.

Without Brutes though, I doubt the Elites would have seceded from the Covenant. Like a poster above me put it: "A dark alternate universe indeed."

Humanity would have been driven into the ground and become extinct.

One of two things would have happened.

1) Elites would never of left, And they would have used Johnson to activate the Ark

2) Humanity would be utterly destroyed and the Covenant would forever be in Limbo, unable to activate the array...unless they found a human to activate it.

Chances are however...They would have saved a human, perhaps a civilian who knew nothing, for the task.

Hahahah, is someone a little butthurt? If you understood humor, you'd be able to tell that he's not completely serious. So lay off.

On-topic: the game woud definitely not be as exciting, and the storyline would be broken.:b

  • 03.13.2011 7:25 AM PDT

Well, there is another option. What if the Elites learned the glyph meant reclaimer, not reclamation? Then we could possibly see the Covenant split anyway as the prophets try to keep power/control but the Elites following the reclaimers of their religion.

I could probably believe this.

There is one tiny problem.

See, in the Universe WITH the Brutes, the Elites never found out about the mis-translated glyph.

What makes you think, in the universe WITHOUT the Brutes, they would figure out the mis-translated glyph?

It would be funny though, if in the universe without the Brutes...watch the Hunters replace the Elites.

That would be troublesome.
