I was thinking about getting H2V because Halo 2 is my favorite game of all time and I would love to be able to play the multiplayer again. CE isn't always laggy for me but it sure as hell isn't smooth. I was just wondering if H2V is any better.

Its not bad, the real problem is finding people online to play with, there is a very small community for this game, online, on pc.

Halo 3

the connection is great-way better than CE. Also I don't know what people are smokin. There are like 70 pre-made games and many of them having 10+ players in them. I even made my own game for fun and in about 5 minutes there were 7 others that joined!

(i got this game today)

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Yet another idiot lying about the game's population to try and trick people into buying a failtastic game.

Oh look. It worked. Feel proud, Ben. Though I wish I could see this guy's face when he boots up H2V's multiplayer and sees maybe 50 people on.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Some people just like to watch others suffer. We'll be here when the OP comes back wondering why it won't run/runs poorly/live doesn't work/no one plays... etc.

It's a game that starts at $12, I can go get a few soda's and a pizza or two for $12, or you can have some hours playing a game that brings back memories of the Halo 2 XBlock Live experience. Is $12 it really that much to whine about? The game no duh is a console import, that's what a large amount of PC games are, look at Crysis 2, Halo 1 PC, GTAIV.

They're large hits and console imports, and still rather high quality games. Halo 2 Vista was indeed just a marketing scam to get people to upgrade to Windows Vista, but it's not so horrible that you need to sit there and try to demotivate people from playing it. Even today there are still around 20 active servers in the game, that means you still have servers to play in and smash up peoples banshees. This game has had a better life span than a game like FarCry 2 or Crysis 1, and FarCry 2's MP was rather a very awesome multiplayer experience, worth buying as long as you can disregard its horrible campaign.

Halo 3

lol, i am truly confused. The matchmaking lobby contains like 70 servers with maybe a little less than half of them populated. Coagulation is NOT the only map played, and there is LITTLE lag (it depends on their own connection, really...my connection is perfect). The point is, you can go on Halo 2 Vista and find a match INSTANTLY that you wanna play. There is no hassle. Plus you can make your own game where people can join any time, unlike Halo CE where you have to do dedicate a server n crap.

You can listen to the haters, or you can just buy it, lol. It's 20 dollars. It's either REALLY worth 20 dollars, or just... not so much. I posted on this thread for whether or not I should buy it like 3 weeks ago, and I was given all this crap from these people. But in the end, it was up to me. I bought it on 3/12/2011, and I am happy.

The only thing that Halo 2 Vista has on Halo: Combat Evolved is the better lag control. You don't have as much lag and you don't have to lead your shots by a foot to hit the target.

Even better still is that you don't need to hit the target at all to hit the target.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

I bought CoD4 from a steam sale for under $15. It has over 10000 servers and 2-30000 players in just version 1.7 alone, and probably far more then that with all versions combined.

Halo 2 only has 1 version, and 40-50 empty servers. Only 70-80 people play. While Halo Custom Ed has 1000 servers, Halo 2 only has a fraction of that.

Sorry, but Halo 2 PC is a ripoff.

So according to your logic, games are rip offs unless the population is really high? lol.

Anyways, If I can find a server to play in, then I'm all set. In Halo 2 Vista I can join games at any given time or create a game and get 10 others to join easily.

ANother thing I want to do is learn how to make maps. Don't feel like going through some tutorials, though. >.>

Something smells fishy...

I rarely experience lag while playing multiplayer in Halo CE PC.
Also, lag is none existent when I play the campaign.

I think the amount of lag that can occur while playing online multiplayer is influenced by the speed of one's internet connection. A fast internet connection would cause little or no lag. A slower internet connection could cause lag.

H2EK was sabotaged on release, so it's not really fun if you can't make maps better than what is in Halo Custom Edition.

If a map contains custom versions of unauthorized tags, it will reject adding the custom map on the custom map list.

The most you could do is, create a custom sbsp for multiplayer.

I forgot to mention, it's also buggy and fails on 7 for many people. Oh, and FREE AIMBOT!

Why buy h2v when you can get GOOD GAMES for $20.

Bought Burnout Paradise weeks before for 20 bucks. Great game. Burnout is my favorite racing game. Anyways, I hold it as an opinion for both Burnout and H2V
