Halo PC has been around for many years, I have been a fan of the PC version ever since I got it back in 2004. It used to be a great shooter, even if it is a lack of sync console import. But now it's quite obvious since 2007, the server count was about 1-2 thousand, and now here in 2011, it's down to a weak 30-50 active servers/hosts.

Is hope for this engine lost? Of course not, I'm not like any hacker kiddy asking for the source code to be released as some say it should, but possibly one more patch and promotion of the game?

The patch being releasing the game for free, no product key needed. It's obvious that the developers are barely getting any money at all for this game any more because you can barely find it in market, but possibly modify the menu UI and add a section to the top of the menu to insert advertisement, then release the game for free and promote it. Then the amount of people who will download and play the game on multiplayer will generate much revenue from the advertisement on the top of the server list in the menu.

Of course there are always many other options, but I think this would be a smart way to fill in those empty server slots that are being payed for and bring a bit more life to a great game.

This is definitely a word I think should get to 343 and Microsoft, unless Bungie is still titled to Halo PC.

Of course, this being a forum I always look for opinions on my ideas, please post your opinion below.

Just for the record, I really don't see this becoming reality, the game will most likely die off like any other, but I'm just looking for opinion in matter.

Something smells fishy...

It's highly likely Microsoft will never advertise Halo: Combat Evolved PC again.

It would be nice ofcourse. But I believe Microsoft has moved on from Halo: Combat Evolved.

Player activity for Halo: Combat Evolved for PC might increase if the remake for XBOX becomes a reality and is advertised. Viewers of advertisements for the XBOX remake might not only be inspired to play the remake but in addition be inspired to play Halo: Combat Evolved for PC. Thus player activity is increased.

My Youtube - Halo 2 Online Co-op
BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Microsoft's policy states all products have a lifecycle.

Halo 1 has already passed it's own lifecycle.
