"A long time ago [before the present], in a galaxy far, far away [not the Milky Way]..." The Halo universe takes place in the future and in the Milky Way galaxy. The forerunners are highly intelligent creatures in Halo; in Star Wars, there are only good people and evil people, no "Humans" and "Forerunner". Still the same race, still the same intelligence. So yes, your idea is stupid :).

Oh, well if it's that long ago, maybe...? I don't know. But there's still the alternate galaxy problem. According to Halo, everything takes place in the Milky Way. Even the Human-Forerunner war.

By that logic, we could say Star Wars is the ancient backstory/events of every Sci-fi universe.

Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, etc.

May I ask what your sorry for? You don't need to apologize because your idea has been rejected. :P

It entirely possible the Forerunner dreadnought is an ISD. That all those hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lifeforms that once existed never survived the firing of Halo. We've never been given enough of the big picture to know for sure.

Not a theory I subscribe to I'll be honest (do I ever like anyone else's theories? I'm starting to wonder myself) but it's just as likely as most other presented here.

The precursors were really Jedi.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Yes. It is. Star Wars is clearly the origin of every sci-fi universe ever. Which means there is potential for Force wielding Spartans.
