Me sitting on my butt was never a bad thing, was it? I know I wouldn't be here right now if I had to stand, lol.

sitting on your butt a bad thing? no... not generally, but when the entire bungie community is in danger of being overrun by idiocy, ignorance, and bad jokes, shouldent we stand to face the oncoming horde? and so I must repeat Rip saw's question; Moderators, do we go through with this?

Getting back on topic, yes...we might as well get off our collective behinds and do something as if we don't we're just making more work for the Mods and Bungie, which frankly they don't need. If the community can get together and deal with this great. If we keep waiting for a solution from elsewhere the problem can just get worse, so lets do something about it now :)

Hey,

I got together some overused topics and such as was asked a while back, I don't think it is complete. If it turns out that this was already compiled, I am sorry about the extra post.

The Underground:
Halo Movie (just say use the sticky)
(I'll need to search farther back to identify more, wait for an edit for more)

The Septagon:
Problems with New Mombasa and such(although it really isn't bad, so not needed to be included, unless there is a sudden, large influx of people complaining and it becomes hard to bear)

New Mombasa:
New Vehicles (especially ATV)
New Weapons
Spartan vs Elites (Whether there are differences, who will you play first, which is better etc., although it is possible some topics that can fall under this header have not been over used)
EDIT ADD: Bots...I don't think anything is left to be talked about, and it always seems to start a flame war, no matter what.
Borderline:
MP Maps(some topics I think have been over done, but dosen't seem to be that bad)
ILoveBees (depends on future posts, right now they have one huge thread that seems to be doing well, if it breaks up before you submit this, you might want to add it)
EDIT ADD: Halo 2 Commercials. If it continues to grow as it seems to be doing, it will become a piece to add in my opinion.
EDIT ADD: Other Spartans. I am unaware of what the official word is, but it seems to come up a lot.

The Maw:
HaloCE Threads (Such as what is it, how do I work it, etc.)
(Once again, I will edit if I find more)

The Library:
Easter Egg stuff or hidden things (seems to come up a lot in many forms)

The Flood:
(Doesn’t seem to have many overused thread topics, once again I will investigate further)

Hope this helps; I'll edit it if I find or think of more. I am not very familiar with the Maw, the Library, or the Flood), so I'll try to catch up on those to fill them in.

No, I don't think that there's been a compilation of all the multi-duplicated threads. Thanks for the research! It should prove useful... it definitely will, once I get off my duff and build those canned responses I said I would.

Anton, if you need assistance with the canned responses, I would be happy to help. Just give me information and a task and I will start when I get a chance (usually within an hour of reading, if not 5 minutes)

I think my part of the guide is almost ready to submit. are we posting this on a forum or submitting it as a news story?

I would vote that a news story would be best, but before we do it we should make sure that all sections are compiled, so that we hit in one, massive stroke that will hopefully whip things into better shape. If we spread it out, I worry that a speedy relapse might occur.

But this isn't a democracy, so my vote doesn’t count. Instead, it shall be suggestion.

actually since this is a public work, your vote does count. how about we submit it as a forum post and news post simultaneously?

Yes! I have the power!

Well anyway, I think that would be good if we can get a moderator to insta-sticky it (and possibly lock it if it seems like the right thing to do). Also, I was wondering if it was possible for the mods or webmaster to create sub-forums for the New Mombasa forum, one for guns, one for vehicles, et cetera

Also, few quick questions:
What should we/I/you do with the list of overused topics that I compiled? Also, we need to wait for the news story to be accepted by Frankie or Sketch Factor or someone else, so post it first for a couple spell checks and such, then submit it. When we see it comes up, we post on New Mombasa the same thing. Then we continue a war of attrition...

At least that’s what I think that we should do...

EDIT: Texas Ben, can you submit it with comments? I was thinking perhaps it would be best if this all went up after the forum maintenance tomorrow...

Definitly post in in the forums! Then we will know for sure that thing will be seen. Sorry, not meaning to bash the mods or SketchFactor (yes, I used his actual name) or anyone else (Frankie and Achronos). I'm just saying they (Mods/Employees) might not want it being an news post.

I have something that will make the news in a month or two though (my little secret).

Multi-duplicated threads? The one peson you should go for those is CANNON 117, he knows almost all of them.

We might as well submit it; they have full control over whether or not it is posted. In my opinion it’s worth a shot. Obviously, the best thing would be if one of the aforementioned gods of the forum would tell us where Bungie would like to put our stuff, but hey, they have a lot on their hands. As I stated, I feel that we should submit it, and if they don't want it as news, we just post in forums, especially the New Mombasa forum. Hopefully the mods will sticky it.
