I like to play Devil's Advocate

Don't Prowlers have exceptional Cloaking systems?

Why didn't they use that the creep past all those nasty ships?

Sounds like a good plan, but a Prowler vs numerous Covenant capital ships? Not good odds.

Sounds more reasonable then slapping together a Space motorcycle from loose parts, Then putting valuable Spartans on them

Did they field test those things? Or were they just crossing their fingers and hoping for the best.

The Booster Frames seemed pretty structurally sound. Not only that, but they were pretty powerful.

No wonder the Halo: Legends videos mostly sucked ass. I just watched them again and seriously thought about selling the DVD, even though I know I'll only get about $2.00 for it.

Seriously, letting Japanese studios make Halo Legends was a huge mistake. All of the awful dialog, awful art, stupid stories, and boring action sequences would not have existed if it was done by American studios. Not being ethnocentric, but Halo is just not meant to be Asian.

I heard they were used twice. In any case, they were probably scrapped as not being very cost effective. Sometimes war does that to certain weapons.

On Halo Legends, I personally thought it was nothing special.

Like Don't get me wrong....I do realize Legends was meant for a totally different audience...and I'm sure said audience would adore legends.

Origins I and II, loved it, ADORED it.

The Babysitter, UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

That One Ash ODST.....is just a brat,Seriously, The Spartan saved his life THREE times! It's not until he finds out it has a -blam!-, that he respects it?

The Package, Nothing Special, until I saw this abomination, then I went to the hospital.

Odd One out, Nothing Special

Homecoming, Again, nothing Special

Prototype, Never got around to watch it, Maybe I missed the best Story, or maybe I lucked out, Who knows.

The Duel, Decent, until I saw this abomination

Also....Call me racist, But Naked Crook does have SOMETHING of a point when he says

And...HOW is it racist? Have you ever seen Japanese Spiderman? Peter Parker had a 30 ft Robot Spiderman. I have watched a lot of anime, although with much distaste, and I have seen people with these like...massive mouths.......

Just watch the Package....

"Oh yeah! Why use Sabres...Longswords...or pelicans...When we can put our Super expensive Spartans on Fancy, Roughly put together, Non-tested, Super dangerous, unarmored Space motorcycles!'

Prototype also sucked, you didn't miss anything

I like to play Devil's Advocate

It only takes ONE good shot from a Banshee, to shoot the Spartan off

What happens then? Does the Spartan jack a banshee?

not when said banshee is boosting 120mph

And it's a GOOD thing Kelly and Fred hijacked a Seraph off screen to save MC and Halsey....

Western animation isn't very good either. The only western animator I would want to touch Halo is Genndy Tartakovsky of Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and Sym-Bionic Titan fame.

"Because their overall cost clashes with their expendable nature, ONI and the UNSC have no plans for widespread application or production."

Doesn't say they were thrown together, just expensive.

In the Halo Legends developer commentary for The Package Frank O'Connor states of the Booster Frames: "The canon is that these are weapons designed exactly for this mission and they're literally cobbled together from bits of other equipment and missile and weapon systems."

Your proof, Good sir, in the trivia section

For a cobbled together piece of equipment, it was pretty damn effective.

Well, they didn't even like their own "version" of Halo, Vanquish.
In my opinion that game was more fun the Halo Reach, but less fun then Halo 3. Then again, maybe it was to futuristic or lacked robots and -blam!-? :/

but didn't they ALL get destroyed?

Again...Good thing Kelly and Fred jacked a Seraph off screen....

Ahem....More Plot Convenience

they don't hate it. It's mostly because of cultural interest. /in japan, RPGs and such are the spotlight, in which xbox fails at, which is why the xbox is almost unheard of there.

That Brute is WAY bigger than 9 feet. That Spartans head is at belly level. In Halo 3...Spartans were a tad bit shorter than Brutes.

He's not way bigger, the angles in that particular clip you linked were rather horrible, the best shot of the size comparison of this particular Brute and Cal is here just about 4 minutes into it. I would say yes, the Brute is probably a little taller than other Brutes, but I have no issue there, Ripa Moramee in Halo Wars is larger than most Elites.

The hair, the face, the shape of the face. The only difference is the hair color. You're stupid. Has anyone ever told you that? I think I have several times.

I'm sorry, but I don't see any resemblance at all. Pokemon Kid has a more stubby face and O'Brian has a much more angular one.
Haha, think what you will about me, the opinion someone online holds of me doesn't mean a thing to me, not in the least.

It was one time because they didn't want to invest in it further. That's called GETTING CANCELED.

Um no, I have never seen anything to indicate that didn't want to make anymore Halo anime shorts. So no, it was not canceled, unless you can actually present me with evidence that it was.

Just by looking at a picture...

That is pretty ambiguous

Knowing the Japanese, Dudes have long hair too. Also...check out that masculine jaw and that nose. It's bigger than that Pokemon ODST's nose. Cal is also a mans name. It is a Unisex name, so both guys and girls can have it.

I think you're stupid OrderedComa.

I'm sure you have heard of Metroid, yes? That was the same idea for Cal, you're meant to assume until the unmasking that Cal is a man, just like with Samus.

Yes, dudes in anime have long hair sometimes, but even then you can tell that they are clearly guys. I could tell it was a girl right away, even before she started talking. If you can't tell by the face or the form, listen to the voice, you can almost always tell the sexes apart by voices, unless the cast are prepubescents, then it's harder.

BTW...I know Odd One out is not Canon. The animation still sucks though. That is what Japanese artists do to American franchises. I was citing it as an example.

If odd One Out is indicative of SOME KIND of Japanese art...than that art should be destroyed.

That is simply your opinion, I have no opinion on the animation, it's just another style to me. And I have no idea what the hell you're talking about at the end of that first paragraph at the end.

Odd One Out was made by the guys who did Dragon Ball Z, so yes, it is indicative of a specific anime style.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. There may have been more instances where Spartans have used Booster Frames, we haven't seen every event in the way, much less every operation or battle the Spartans took part in. They probably were used more than once, but we haven't seen it.

Popularity in Japan is a difficult thing to describe.

Most of the games and shows which are considered popular in Japan have been around much longer than anything in the rest of the world.
E.g. Gundam is still at the height of it's popularity after over 30 or so years, with consistent game, anime, manga, movie and toy releases.

Western games are fickle, once every now and then a Halo game is released, and the books and toys are just as infrequent.
There's no stability, and with each major release a marketing campaign is needed to bring it back to people's attention.

Not only that, but the Xbox doesn't have such a large fanbase there, not just because nintendo and sony were there first, but because they can't afford to give the Xbox the push everything else in Japan got when it started out.

But to be fair, Japanese people don't hate Halo, most of the people I've met don't even know what it is.

Halo Legends was superb, and this is coming from someone who is not particularly an anime/manga fan. I have small complaints yes, but nothing is perfect, and I do not expect things to be that way. Legends was quite excellent over all, and I'd love to see more Halo shorts, anime or western style.

I could write a novel-length thread on all the canonical issues with Halo: Legends, not to mention things that just don't belong in a Halo Universe. It was freaking terrible.

Or - just a thought here - or, we could have Halo shorts/videos that are Computer Generated. The Package got it close, but it was still too horribly Anime-ified.

I guess they just don't have some of the same interests as we do.

No need to single them out. There are a lot of people who didn't enjoy the Halo games.
