Subject: Humanity must have been really lazy for 500 years.

Actually, the Flash clones were NOT designed to die after a short period. It was the fact flash cloning hadn't been done for a complete human(Before it was for organs or limbs). Thus flaws of the tech caused them to die.

There wouldn't be a point to having them 'programmed' to die, as by simply being there they removed the issue of children missing.

you don't think, flash cloning, augmented supersoldiers, space travel, colonization of countless planets, slipspace travel, the development of AI's capable of runnning full ships and learning the entire history of mankind in minutes is enough?

There is cloning, the kids who became Spartans were flash-cloned, and the clones replaced the abducted children, but due to the nature of trying to flash clone an entire person as opposed to just an organ or something like that, most of the clones didn't live for long. Where did you get the idea that there was no cloning of any sort in Halo?

but i according to halo legends, the flash clones are specifically meant to die in a short period of time by a natural cause like cancer. This freed the spartans to act freely throughout the galaxy without having the worry of them being looked for or tracked. FYI tom 117 elite, Catherine Halsey flash cloned her brain to make Cortana and her sister, whose name i do not remember.

No, Halo Legends didn't say that at all. It was not important that the clones of the children died, it was only important that they were replaced with clones. The death of the flash clones resulted due to flash cloning not being meant for use on a whole human being, a lot of problems result from that, and it probably wouldn't be cancer, that is viewed as just as trivial to humanity as a common cold is to people in the UNSC, 'cause they've developed the cure for cancer by that time. It's probably be more like brain damage or severe issues that would eventually kill then, such as weak immune systems or something like that.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

You dont think that the effort needed to colonize and scout the area of space the UNSC had dosent cost that much?

They most likely spent more money on finding new habitable planets, terraforming planets so they could support life, scouting for new resources... The UNSC spent most of it's money on this.

And anyways, I'm glad how Halo's universe is. You can relate to Humanity 500 years from now. There arent flying cars and laser guns for everyone, you know, that kind of typical futuristic things.
