Subject: Rain/Deference for Darkness Piano and Sax Cover (live version)

Hi guys! This is my first of many covers of Bungie music! I am an avid gamer and sax player, so this was a lot of fun. This is the Live version, but I will have a "studio" version soon. Yes, I'm such a tool, I played it for my school talent show. Of course, credits to Marty and Michael at Bungie for such wonderful;y fun music to cover :D

YouTube link here!

Enjoy!

Cave Johnson here, we're done!

PS: If you are reading this comment while imagining my voice, don't panic. That's just a side effect of the testing.

Tell the guy on the piano to be a little softer on the keys, the key to the song is the emotion in the instruments. Stamping the keys from practicing too much will affect the piece.

Otherwise, great job.

Hmm. We'll take that into consideration next time. He tends to get into his music very easily lol.

We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle our flag will be recognized throughout the world as a symbol of freedom on the one hand and of overwhelming force on the other.

That was beautiful.

That applause was very deserved too.

I'm not saying anything negative here, it is a common curse amongst musicians. The fact that one has to practice to get the song right can leave you with leaving certain things out of mind, and in a lot of cases it can be the mood of the song. Many times I have heard a song played not wrong, but simply without the personal interpretation and the usage of that emotional addition to the song.

He did this piece justice, just that it needed a tweak here or there. Also, the sax was well done, very hard to not get that reed whine within the song, but it seemed almost non existent in the song.

Bravo.

Thank you very much :)

For the record, this included a lot of transposition between piano and sax, though that wasn't difficult. One of my friends(not the one here) wrote out the piano part perfectly, and I transposed some of it over to alto, for a little creative touch :D

Just hoping that maybe, possibly, I can grab someone at Bungie's attention, and maybe show it to Marty :D

(Marty O'Donnell is my hero)

Holy crap a comment from the Chief about a game HE WASN'T EVEN IN! This is awesome. Just you guys wait until we have the studio version recorded.

By the way, anyone know of a different forum that I can post this in? I mean B.Net is important in my plans to become well known, so where else can I post this?
