Ok just wanted to say I'm posting this in the bungie universe thread because not sure any other thread would have fit, especially the reach forum where most of the degenerates would flock.

Anyways, so since Bungie has been making ridiculous sums of money from making computer games since 2001, why do they pay to have these wristbands made, then ask random people to pay them so they can give the proceeds....whoa STOP! That makes zero sense. If you have 'means' why wouldn't you just donate funds or resources instead of having these stupid ass wristbands made (which are probably made in Japan, or China anyways) and then asking random ass people to buy them and donate those funds...jeez this is so riduculous. Am I the only one who thinks this, or am I a troll?

It's THEIR money, they can do whatever THEY want with it.

THEY'RE not even GIVING anything by DOING this. THEY are trying to make THEMSELVES look like the GOOD GUYS by GROVELING

Brains beats brawn get used to it

Fear the Red Comet

Variety is the spice of life.
Long live games.
Death to all fanboys.

Because it's a way to visually unite people whilst still helping.

Look at all the people who buy pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness rather than spending it directly on donations.

All the people that bought American flags on 9/11 from various stores than putting funds directly into relief/recovery efforts.

Hatti

Katrina

etc

etc

Now obviously the best way to help is to directly send funds and other supplies yourself to aid stations that will make immediate use of them, but at the same time giving the people in need a visual sign of hope and unity to rally behind isn't without some merits as well, particularly when it has a tangible effect in some way...

maybe they should donate money to our government to help them get out of debt

Oh? And the "All money received from purchases of these items goes straight to the relief efforts" isn't giving anything?

"Right now you will find a charity wristband for sale in the Bungie Store. All proceeds from the sale of these wristbands will be donated directly to Red Cross aid and relief efforts that will desperately be needed in the days, weeks, and months ahead."
This is clearly what I am referring to. They are giving nothing. They are probably paying to have these made, then asking random 13 years olds on this site for their money to pay for it. Real noble (no pun intended)

Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

I am gobsmacked by this post.

Heaven forbid anything terrible happens to you OP, you will be crying out for assistance - imagine the irony if someone wearing a similar wristband was to assist you in your hour of need...

Lets say a wristband costs $1 to make and they make 100 000.
100 000 are sold making $500 000 in donations and Bungie lose $100 000.

If Bungie just gave that money directly, it would only be $100 000 in donations.
