US loosens sanctions on Libya to enable US firms to buy oil from rebel forces so that they can "use the income from oil sales to purchase weapons and other supplies". <- That is fun.

What lol? This is us giving money to the rebels to win the war and getting Oil at the same time from people who are wholly dependent on us (some would argue this is the real reason we're involved).

US president Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of up to $25m in surplus government goods to support Libya's opposition groups and protect civilians. The directive on Tuesday authorises the money to be used for non-lethal commodities and services.

These include medical supplies, uniforms, boots, tents, personal protective gear, radios and meals prepared according to Islamic tradition. The money cannot be used to assist rebel fighters in cash, weapons or ammunition.

Also, this is just a well shot picture with an interesting caption below (rebels about to storm a building in Misurata)

Also a disturbing rumor

Many reports that 2000/3000 new mercenaries arrived in #Tripoli from @Algeria in past 10 days

Again, could be a rumor, could be a sad truth.

that photographer came at a good time, didn't he?

oh great, more Mercs. well, i guess they will be the last ones considering Gaddafi is now boxed in

That's now 2-3k less mercs in the world...

A bomb attack in the main square in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh has killed 15 people and injured 20, some of them foreigners, officials say.

The explosion ripped through the Argana cafe in Djemaa el-Fna square, a popular tourist destination.

The interior ministry said evidence now pointed to a bomb attack after initial reports suggested a gas explosion.

Morocco has seen two months of protests against King Mohammed VI amid a tide of uprisings across the region

i hope that doesn't turn violent like Libya and Syria. the Moroccan King is pretty progressive and has been giving in like mad, and it's been rather peaceful there.

I read that Sweden was helping out in Libya. Is this true? If so does this violate their neutrality?

Good news:
Al Jazeera's Youssef Gaigi has just confirmed the fighting is continuing into the evening, and the rebels have retaken the crossing, after they were joined by rebel troops fresh from the battle in Zintan.

While Gaddafi's forces are better armed and trained, there is a massing of opposition forces, "gathering together for one enormous, collective push".

i hope NATO is coordinating properly with the Rebels, and i'm sure MQ-1 Predators can mark targets for NATO if needed.

I hope so too. But I think the Predators are being limited to around Misurata since they are of more use there (what I read, I'm no military expert).
