Stop bumping this thread! Jesus Christ, Phoenix! The Flood isn't a news network.

Why do you have to go hatin this thread when you have got all the Girl problems threads, and the COD suks threads? This thread is handy for getting the news and is much more relevant and interesting than the usual crap that comes out of the flood

We're discussing. Can't you see that you ignorant -blam!-. What the hell, does the civil war and the death of innocent people not bother you?. This thread offers far more detail than any news I've seen.

Rebels might win.
No they will win. They have the world on their side.

Problemn we have to consider is how we help them secure their goals when they suceed.

The UN will over look the creation of a government like in Nigeria
and Cote d'Ivoire. The UN will help them set up a government to the extent they ask for help. past that, not much else to do.

not sure what the breaking point in the stalemate was... The rebels just suddenly made a huge push in a lot of different places.

not sure, it feels more like a bunch of people who were not in open revolt suddenly just broke, and joined the fighting.

An ICC warrant for the arrest of Gaddafi will be issued at the end of this month. The delay is to allow him time to go into exile, and end the fighting earlier.

i sense NATO Mobilization.

Rebels got a lot of equipment from the Misrata airport, for the western Rebels they may now have the ability to push threw to their comrades in Tripoli, but i would expect them to wait for their colleagues in the East to arrive, for they have the training and weapons to take Tripoli.

but, i guess we can say May 11th the stalemate was broken.

I have no idea where the "get over yourself" came from. You're violating the rules by constantly bumping this thread; if people are genuinely interested, they will respond and bring it back up without your excessive posts. If you want to make updates while the few people that are actually interested in this thread are offline, then just make one post and keep editing it. People that wish to continue the discussion should just save the thread so that it's not cluttering up the front page when nobody is talking about it.

Of course it bothers me- there was no basis for that irrelevant accusation. If you like discussing this so much, then you should support me in urging Phoenix to stop bumping, as it's against the rules and, being so frequent and obvious, could get the thread locked.

Lol at cluttering up the main page. Most other threads in the flood are based on "OMG girl smild at me, what do?" or "Modern warfare 3 wil kik ass" and many threads dont make it past 10 posts. I dont get what youre problem is, dont like it, dont read it and the whole "cluttering up the main page" thing is just rubbish
Again, obviously my problem isn't with the content, it's with the frequent bumps that put a thread back on the front page while there is no discussion going on. Look back through the pages and you'll see numerous instances of bumps with a significant time gap between actual discussion posts.

I have direct authorization to keep this thread going the way i am. Infact, ninjas have come in and moderated specific posts right after a string of 'bumps' and have left the thread unlocked. I have yet to get a warning and to the contrary have gotten urged to continue.

not to mention that in the OP i made it very clear 'I' will bump it and again got no push back from the mods. I also asked nobody else bumps this.

If the mods actually have an issue with it they would have locked it long ago, a thread this long doesn't get this big without gaining serious attention and scrutiny from the mods.

OT: I'm confused, the rebels control the Misurata airport but not the military base attached to it?

The Misuratan Rebels have successfully pushed out of the city of Misurata and are now attacking the midway town of Zlitan between Misurata and Tripoli.

next town along the coast is Al-Khums, but after that there is a fork in the road, i would assume they would take the way with the least towns.

Alot of political manoeuvring today. not much in the way of battlefield news.

Journalists suspect that Gaddafi is staying in the same hotel as them, using them as human sheilds.

The UNSC met yesterday on matters regarding Syria. Russia and China vetoed all proposed UN sanctions and action in Syria. Lebanon(a non-veto, non-permanent UNSC seat holder) also voted against all UN sanctions.

The EU regardless of no UN approval, however, has imposed financial sanctions against the Syrian Government, Canad and the US are expected to follow suit.
