i'm also seeing reports that the plan to end Yemen's political crisis is dead

also, the Yemen Navy Ship spotted a Iranian ship in the Gulf of Aden, but i can't find any other information to confirm this or that says what happened.

Syria's getting Bad, and i'm thinking alot of European countries are going to try and intervene regardless of the lack of UN approval.

if i recall the Syrian protesters asked for help and it all got shot down by Russian and China.

any blame if a EU intervention happens should be pointed their way. besides, Syria is at the point where were seeing dead civilians on the News, this could turn into another Bosnia.

I hope the EU goes in. Someone needs to stop the killing.

Don't hold you breath.

Lol I'm not, but the US isn't going to make a move and the UN is tied up thanks to Russia and China.

Also the Yemen deal is dead? What happened? Saleh is refusing to step down and transfer power?

Phoenix, you said the Yemen peace deal is dead, are there any details on what happened exactly or has the president simply not transferred power because of less media coverage?

I think things are much more complicated in the Middle East than a regime change can fix, even a democratic one. Modern infrastructure is a necessity. They [Middle Eastern countries] need to modernize politically, socially and intellectually before any real change can happen. Removing the leaders will only work if the international community is prepared to seriously help rebuild these countries. Afghanistan is an example of that. Many Taliban fight simply because the Taliban is willing to pay them.

why the hell hasn't there been a U.S Deployment?
I don't give a damn about the fact we'll look bad, we have 50,000 troops in iraq ALONE. reroute a 1000. any amount will help right?

Yes I'm fairly young. No, that doesn't mean I'm automatically dumber than you or have less life experience, thats just generally the case. I am not your general case.

Politics. Simple enough. They don't want troops over there cause the public will complain. So they won't deploy, no matter what.

why do we have military bases in the middle east then?
Bush maybe didn't make the popular choices, but he made the ones that counted.
