How long has it been since the arrest warrants were issued?
Erm if you mean in effect they are not.

If you just mean how long have they been made for its just under a month.
The idea is for the ICC to pass them on the 1st... weather or not they actually will is up to the politicians in the court.

Russia, while maintianing their stance on Syria and Yemen, have changed their angle on Libya, saying "Gaddafi Must Go" and stated he is no longer legitimate.

In discussions during the G8 summit in France, Obama asked the Russians to pass on the message to Gaddafi that if he left office and left Libya, the international community would let him live. Russia responded saying that they don't believe that is possible: "Gaddafi must go", but they would think it over, as they would with the G8 request to take over mediation with the loyalists.

The loyalist forces have made a renewed push on Misurata, but are currently being held back, just inside the western outskirts. As they advanced on the city, they have laid an extensive minefield all around the city in an attempt to stop people from leaving the city. Such minefields are against international law according to NATO.

The Rebels in Benghazi and Misurata have said they have no interest in keeping Gaddafi alive anymore, saying that the only way to end the fighting is for Gaddafi to be gone. They have asked that NATO try to eliminate Gaddafi if they get reasonable intelligence as to his whereabouts.

In Yemen there is now an uneasy truce between the rebellion there and the Government's Republican Guard. This following the Rebels taking a Republican Guard military base, and the Loyalists bombing a group of Armed Rebel Tribesman just outside the capital.

In Syria, protesters in Deraa chant together "Muslim's and Christians want freedom". In the besieged city of Baniyas, protesters still come out in the thousands, to protest and to appeal to the conscript military. Security forces have killed at least 4 people in Deraa last night.

My faith in this undertaking just took a nose dive.
my faith has been in steady decline since the ICC news just vanished. anything on the warrants and the crimes against humanity has just vanished. every day i don't hear about it my faith that the alliance will be able to DO something declines.

for the PLANNED date yeah. I'm starting to loose faith in that however as it's been so long since we had any update on that front at all.

If there were doubts about there being plain clothes security forces in Syria firing on the population this will get rid of them.

In the video the camera man is shot. View at your own risk to your sanity.

there never was any indication that he actually went into hiding, he simply claims he is somewhere that NATO can not touch him. Journalists think he is staying in a number of hotels.

Phoenix, that video is depressing....

And im a little concerned on what we have to do to kill gaddafi. We cant blow up a hospital or a hotel, that would be awful PR. The only real way to do it is to send in the rebels

There has also been rumours of talks of a ceasfire between gaddafi representatives and British representatives but nothing has been confirmed

  • 05.28.2011 12:23 PM PDT

well, Canadians have a lot of Spec Ops in the country, so do the British, i'm confident they can apprehend him. without needing to bomb him into the ground.

i doubt that there are negotiations going on...

We need him alive, it'll send one hell of a message.

exactly. but it appears everyone is becoming inpatient, like this was supposed to last a month... actually that was probably the though at first...

also, the UK is deaning that those talks are going in. safe to say they were a lie.
