We need him alive, it'll send one hell of a message.

exactly. but it appears everyone is becoming inpatient, like this was supposed to last a month... actually that was probably the though at first...

also, the UK is deaning that those talks are going in. safe to say they were a lie.
Wait can't we just have peace talks with him and arrest him there and then?

Or have our spec ops follow him back to were he is hiding? And then capture him.
Why the hell not, any Military man would agree, it's the suits who have the final say.
I understand 100% if arresting him at the talks is against the rules of war and what have ya. Which the whole you promised peace during the talks this is dirty tactics. ( Which would be rather humorous to hear from Gaddafi).

But the 2nd one would be no problem i imagine.
I think that is why he is refusing to talk with anyone other than the AU

Like we're gonna let that happen.
it's how it's going right now. They are refusing any possible peace talks that don't come through the AU

responding directly to another person isn't bumping. if you can't tell, people are actually discussing here and are interested in the discussion.

This thread isn't about popularity, and everything about keeping people informed. I will continue to post here as long as the thread remains unlocked and other people continue to post aswell.

NATO conducted a rare daylight raid on Tripoli today.

When it comes time to vote in the new Libyan Parliament, the leaders of the TNC have vowed to not run for office, as to remove the possibility of a current government swayed vote.

Gaddafi's Brother, who was commanding the loyalist operations against the Rebel held Tunisian boarder crossings, was killed yesterday.

An extension and expansion of the Canadian operation in Libya is to be put before parliament this week.

259 women have made the effort to seek out the UN human rights watch in Tripoli to report rapes committed by loyalist forces.

well, i can assume the fighting on the Tunisian border will wind down since there commander is dead... or it may get worst...

a daylight raid... i think that was to prove a point. or we a switching to round the clock bombing of the city... how many military targets are left there anyway? it can't be high after most of these bombing runs. unless they are moving there C&C centers into hospitals, which would be bad.

In Syria

Two buses have been fired upon by security forces. One was full of university students, the other was full of mostly elementary school students. Any ambulances that attempted to come to the aid of the buses were also targeted.

Security forces have moved tanks into the town of Teir Maaleh, Talbiseh and Rastan.

Security forces in Deraa publicly tortured and killed a 13 year old protester.

In Yemen

Reports suggest that Saleh, a long time anti-terrorist leader has invited al-Qaeda into the southern province of Yemen in an attempt to replace the defecting military. This is supported by al-Qaeda's claim that they are now running the city of Zinjibar.

They've been focusing on AAA sites in Tripoli, specifically to allow the attack helicopters to go in. They haven't been able to do too much to actual C&C in Tripoli as it is rather heavily populated.

In a NATO address today there was a report of a steamroll effect in moral in Misurata, saying that the rebels there have soaring moral that is cementing their dominance in the city, despite renewed rocket attacks.

The rebels west of misurata have pushed deeper towards Tripoli now fighting in the city of Dafniya, they are now less than 70 Km from Tripoli

NATO forces have been spotted on the ground near Misurata. Al Jazeera has about 2 seconds of video showing the masked SpecOps who they speculate to be British, Reuters has reported seeing both Canadian and British flags on the shoulders of these troops who vanish into the crowds as soon as reporters start to approach.

The Big 4 NATO countries participating in Libya(US,Britain,France and Canada) are pushing next week for a new UN resolution to allow for a full ground assault. Obama has maintained that while he feels a ground presence is needed, he is unwilling to commit American ground forces.

I don't see why America has to police the world. There are other superpower countries that could do it just as well.
