What do you guys think will happen after we kill Gaddafi? I also don't get why China and Russia don't want US Air Support in Syria? Can someone explain this to me?
Why is NATO and US involved in this again, i am completely lost. Theres so much -blam!- thats going down in the middle east. So heres my questions again.
1.What do you think will happen after we kill Gaddafi
2.Why is NATO and US involved in the middle east conflicts happening now?
3.Why does Russia and China disapprove of the US putting a No-Fly Zone in Syria.
I haven't been watching the news, nor paying attention lately. So i'm off track,1. First it's important to remember we aren't trying to kill Gaddafi. If he dies in a NATO strike he is acceptable collateral damage. IF the rebels win, the G8 and a number of other countries including Qatar, and the UAE have formed a council to help the NTC to hold elections and build a new government.
2. Way back after the Rwanda incident, where peace keeping efforts failed miserably, Canada put forth a motion at the UN called 'the responsibility to protect' it said that if a country's government or people were threatening to kill hundreds or thousands of civilians, it was the UN's responsibility as a collective of major powers, to step in and save those lives, with no regard for the finacial, or political ramifications. Under this movement that passed into international law, when Gaddafi threatened to commit a 'massacre' in the town of Benghazi, the UN moved in. Also the US is part of NATO, and operational command in the Mediterranean is actually under Canada.
3. Russia and China will automatically oppose anything western powers attempt to accomplish. That said they also have close ties to the current regimes, and are afraid that if they fall, the will suffer finically.
