Apparently NATO bombed the hell out of Tripoli today. Gaddafi called and said he's never going to give Libya up or step down. He also says he has an army of around half a million armed Libyans ready to counterattack.

And of course the usual "quick guys, cuddle around my house so I don't get bombed!" request.

You gotta love this guy.

What the hell? There's crazy, and then there's pure suicidal insanity. Gaddafi has torn through both markers. He's hit the complete raving lunatic mark and killed it for getting in his way. This is... complete bull.

We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle our flag will be recognized throughout the world as a symbol of freedom on the one hand and of overwhelming force on the other.

I feel so bad for the protestors.

Liberia severed diplomatic ties with Libya on Tuesday, the latest African country to distance itself from leader Muammar Gaddafi since a NATO-backed uprising against him.

The move, announced by the office of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, comes after Senegal received a delegation of Libyan rebel leaders last month and Mauritania's president was quoted last week as saying Gaddafi's departure was necessary.

TL:DR-Another African country has decided not to lash itself to a sinking ship, and has now distanced itself from gaddafi

Can someone give me an estimate roughly of how close the rebels are to tripoli

Canada has officially recognized the NTC as the true Libyan Government, this after another Unanimous vote in parliament to continue the mission for at least another 90 days.

I like Halo: Reach. I think its a fun game. What i DON'T like about it is that the maps such as SwordBase is terrible. I don't hate armor lock, but i can say it can sometimes get annoying. Bloom doesn't bother me either.

Man theres so much action today. So much countries accusing one another. Hopefully we don't go to war with each other. World War III is a terrible idea. It will make every species on the planet to go exstinct.

LIBYA
Rebels have re-advanced to Yefran an area they had taken and withdrew from after NATO dropped pamphlets asking Loyalists to desert in the town.

NATO commander Brig. Gen. Charles Bouchard has said that in light of recent events, there will be no need for NATO ground intervention.

If the US Senate decides to pull funding for the Libya mission, the Canadian government has voted in favour of 'picking up the slack' putting the entire 3 Wing of the RCAF on standby and committing at least 34 more CF-18s to the mission, if the US withdraws.

Tunisia has now recognized the NTC as the legitimate government of Libya.

YEMEN
The Yemeni government revealed today that Qatar had been funding the Tunisian opposition secretly in response to the loyalists bringing in al-Qeada troops.

SYRIA
People in northern Syria are fearing a massive crackdown there.

A Syrian Bishop has requested the Vatican support Assad's crackdown saying that the people are led by extremists who do not want democracy, but rather want to force their religion on others.

Good. This unconstitutional invasion should have never begun.

not an invasion(there are no ground troops), and by international law it was the responsibility of all UN countries to intervene.

Countries have control over their air too, it is an invasion.
Constitution trumps the UN.

I'm Canadian, and the international law of 'Responsibility to Protect'(the law that allowed, or even mandated this) was a Canadian idea. We sure as hell better see this though. The US did a wonderful job using their Africom do get things started, they don't need to stay involved, as much as I would like to see them do so.

how much land has the UN Coalition taken control of? 0 miles. by definition this is a no fly zone.

no one called Operation Desert Fox an invasion, why is this an invasion?

well, atleast Canada has force read since i know very well the US Government wont rest until we pull out of there, they act like the US is the only one committing forces.

that Syrian Bishop is and idiot.

NATO Ground intervention is out the window, my friend will be happy then.
