I like Halo: Reach. I think its a fun game. What i DON'T like about it is that the maps such as SwordBase is terrible. I don't hate armor lock, but i can say it can sometimes get annoying. Bloom doesn't bother me either.

Are we gonna go to war soon? I'm hoping that will not happen. If we go to war so many countries are gonna be fighting. I think that China and Russia should STFU seriously, If you don't want NATO's military action on Syria then why don't they do something about it?

Just because the powder keg situation exists doesn't mean a spark will ignite it.

I don't think anyone wants a war, and that's why it's such a big threat right now.

As to political climate, i was referring more to the polarization on issues, with two distinct sides.

Well WWI didn't have polarization on particular issues. It was a system of alliances. There was very little that many nations had in common aside from a common enemy. Maybe their foreign policy goals were aligned within the alliances, but that was limited to "we both want this guy dead".

I mean, France and the UK back then really didn't have anything in common than seeing Germany as a threat. Today this is more a battle of ideology. If China and Russia let pro-democracy movements succeed abroad they'll have to worry about democracy movements within their borders.

Maybe I'm mistaken though. If anyone can remember anything that disproves this I'd appreciate it.

its a little off topic, but relates to the escalating tensions between NATO and Russia.

Russia and NATO hold talks annually, usually about keeping peace. This year however(talks begin on Monday in Brussels)Russia has demanded NATO turn over details on their new missile defense system, or risk Military action on NATO.

I've always pushed 'Russia is not the bad guy' but it really looks like they want to go to war with NATO.

EDIT: my apologies, the condition was to turn over information OR shut down the new program.

Russia says that the new missile defense system is a 'threat to Russian defense'

Well you can see how Russia would be upset with this. They're being increasingly isolated. A missile defense system would put it as a huge disadvantage and means that they are much more likely to be attacked.

They were prepared to consider Poland and the Czech republic nuclear threats a few years ago when missile defenses were going top eb installed there.

Well those missile defense systems can also be used against NATO forces also if needed.

Russia isn't helping their cause if they are threatening military action again its allies. Remember the Soviet Union has been dead since 1990 but there are still signs of Russia being untrustworthy and threatening your allies isn't helping anyone.

Russia and NATO arent allies though. They never have been. Russia has historically been on the fringes of Western (European) society for its entire history. They see NATO as a legitimate threat to Russia's sovereignty and foreign policy goals. Moreover, they're still reeling from the loss of their empire. They're caving the respect that they held in the days of the soviet union. Waltzing all over them is not the way to go. But at the same time they have to realize that they simply cannot pursue their own goals any more.

"Through the fog the army moves on. Pushing through borders. Knocking over obstacles. Killing all enemies. Victory is secured, brothers, march on until the flag rises over the landscape."

I say we just shoot cruise missiles into Tripoli until Gaddhafi dies. It may be expensive but it would be

a victory!

Every problem could be solved if modern society wasn't so damned stupid.

Personally, with all the crap the U.S. is dealing with now, I don't entirely believe we can handle another war, not now. And things certainly seem to be heading south in a hurry over there.

Nato accuses Gaddafi of using Massijids(Mosque in Arabic) and Children Playgrounds as Shields.
Wow, that is really cold. How exactly is he doing that though? Is he hiding in/near them?

Stationing troops or hiding weapons in them probably.

Libya's rebel oil chief accused the west of failing to keep up its promises to deliver urgent financial aid, saying his authority had now run out of cash completely after months of fighting.

Speaking to Reuters on Saturday in a rare interview in the eastern rebel stronghold of Benghazi, oil and finance minister Ali Tarhouni said all crude oil production had now come to a standstill due to damage caused by the fighting.

"We don't have any (cash). We are running out of everything," he said. "It's a complete failure. Either they (western nations) don't understand or they don't care."

He added: "We are not producing any oil because of the damage. I don't expect us to produce oil any time soon. The refineries have no crude oil, so they are not working."

Erm we either don't understand or we don't care?

Does he no about the global recession? And if we didn't care why are in there in the 1st place?

Some people need to think before they speak.

I know, they owe us their lives aswell. Without our help, Gaddafis tanks would have rollen through Benghazi and Misrata would still be under fire.

And we are in a goddamn recession.

And we are in a goddamn recession.

No we aren't. But we aren't in good financial shape either.

These guys aren't showing a lot of respect for what NATO is doing for them. But to them, NATO hasn't done enough. Personally I don't agree but let's try to understand their perspective. Their lives and families are in danger.

i can't find the (or should is say A) story, but CNN said NATO would not seek Military Action against Syria.

The US has hired Explosive Disposal companies to go and clean up Libya after the War.

Ya know, I've been thinking about that. Can one actually call this event a war?

i think it depends on your definition of war.

in my case it fits my definition of a police action. but then again Vietnam and Korea were what is under the proper definition a police action.

or we can say No-Fly Zone, seeing how operation Desert Fox(which is what i call the Iraqi No-Fly Zone of 1991-2003 because that's what it was first stated to me as) wasn't a war and is basically the dame thing we are seeing here except that Desert Fox lasted 4 days.
