Yeman president Saleh. I'm confused on the matter. return from where? Where is he? Who is leading the loyalists?
Hes in Saudi Arabia

They are stopping him from going back to Yemen to stop the protests.

So Yeman protests are generally unopposed? Great. The rebels will almost certainly get what they want.

LIBYA
US congress moving to vote on US participation in Libya. It's looking like the push is for the US to stop bombing and move into a patrol rather than enforcement role.

Rebels are saying that they can resume oil production in 3 to 4 weeks.

Rebels have now said "We consider that Gaddafi has to resign himself to leaving or accept retirement in a remote part of Libya. We have no objection to him retreating to a Libyan oasis under international control"

meanwhile Abdurrahaman Shalgam, who just abandoned the regime from his post as deputy foreign minister has said Gaddafi is trying to negotiate asylum in Belarus, and is expected to leave Libya within two weeks.

The ICRC has transported about 300 prisoners out of Tripoli to Benghazi. All were cleared by the NTC as having been people who were fighting on their side, and were captured.

Senior army officers who defected yesterday say that the death toll in Libya is now in excess of 15,000 people.

YEMEN
Looks like the cease fire was never meant to last, Yemen security forces fired on 10,000 protesters in Aden, this after the Vice President rejected transition of power talks in the absence of the President.

The UN has sent a human rights delegation to Yemen, their findings have to potential to sway Russia on the matter of a UNSC resolution according to the Russian PM.

SYRIA
Hundreds of Protesters are dead or injured across the country after mass protests in over a dozen cites broke out last night.

Syrian forces have moved away from the Turkish boarder and retreated into the towns out of sight of Turkish forces. The Boarder is a hilly region, and Turkey suspects that they have just retreated into the heavily forested area on the other side of the hills.

Turkey, Canada and the US threaten Syria with military action if they do not implement promised reforms by Tuesday. Russia has Reiterated that they, alongside China will take military action in the wake of any western intervention. The US has moved the USS George HW Bush Carrier attack Group to the Syrian Coast, and Canada has committed to send the frigates HMCS Ville de Quebec, and HMCS Fredericton frigates along side The HMCS Windsor submarine, and the HMCS Iroquois air defence destroyer.(on a personal aside, I think this is a little bit of posturing on the side of everyone but Turkey. I don't think anyone is willing to take the chance of a world war)

Russia has approved the Iranian Bushehr Reactor as refuelled and 'safe.' The reactor had previously been shut down due to it's ability to create weapons grade plutonium.

Western and Eastern Tensions
CBC morning news reported that a Canadian Aurora arctic patrol plane fired a warning shot with a dummy torpedo at a Russian patrol sub in Canadian waters.

"What's up baby, how are you doin'? I hate the sound of my own voice and I been invited here to distract my self from the fact that I wrote all of this garbage."

Canada's really getting involved in world affairs, this makes me pretty happy.

Did you not listen to Harper's little bit on foreign policy after the election? He made it damned clear we are going to become far more aggressive in world affairs, and had that little 'we have our allies, and they are clear on who our enemies are.' speech? He wants to start pushing Canadian policy forward rather than holding a status quo. We hold alot of sway now that Canada controls something like 60% of the worlds energy technology.

So I just read the last bits. Is there a possibility that the Western powers can go to war the China and Russia over the Syrian thing?
possible

NATO is threatening military action in Syria, and Russia and China are threatening Military action against NATO if NATO does anything in Syria.

I think its all posturing and nobody will do anything, but if it does, it would mean a world war.

Ya no kidding it WOULD me World War lol. And the odds are nukes would come into play right? Or have we all agreed that, thats bad? Also im pretty sure a diplomatic solution would come into play first. Btw why are Russia and China so hesitant not to help? I can understand China since its a Communist country but why Russia?
Nukes are probably out of the Question, but that's cause all these countries don't like WMDs.

as for why, both Russia and china have hundreds of millions of dollars tied to the Syrian President. If he goes, they loose all that.

Oh okay that makes sense. Im surprised Canada is being so forceful. Why the change?
we just had an election and for the first time in more than 20 years we have a majority government.

The Conservative Party(who got elected) is alot more into expanding Canadian presence as a world power(we are the worlds only energy superpower, and the only G8 country no longer in financial crisis.

It means we now have money to toss around into building up a military force to be reckoned with, and the ability to economically hurt alot of countries if we want by just cutting them off from oil or nuclear power that we export, and a government that is willing to use that power if they feel it's necessary.

House rejects move to cut funds from Libya mission United States in now out of Libya operations.

so a Russian sub was found in Canadian waters and a NATO Task Group is now sitting of Syria, great.

Article says that the bill did not pass meaning the US is allowed to continue operations in Libya. This is good news.

Syria warned over troop movement near Turkish border *Video*

Somalia: 'Foreign air raid' targets Kismayo's al-Shabab

If NATO strikes Syria,we might see the start of WW3.
as Iran will get butthurt,so they would strike NATO Forces, then the US gets butthurt and they would attack the Iranian Forces.
then Russia will get Butthurt and attack the American Forces Attacking the Iranian Forces which are attacking the NATO Forces which are attacking the Syrian Forces which are attacking the Demonstrators.

Well we rubbed off on our former colonies as most of them have been successful. I mean 3 of the most powerful nations are former British Colonies lol.

You did a bang up job with Africa /friendly shot at Great Britain

But I'm pleased to see Canada is being more forceful. We need SOME one out there to enforce the will of the UN (be it good or bad).
