LIBYA
NATO has returned to attacking Gaddafi positions near Misurata after the Rebels have been pushed back about 50km, back to al Dafniya.

The rebels moral is boosted after a french diplomat's report that Gaddafi is planning on offering a resolution to the conflict 'very soon'

about 150 people from Benghazi have arrived in Tripoli, transported by the Red Cross, to reunite them with family who has been cut off for the last 4 months.

Gaddafi forces have tried to make a push into the rebel held mountains over the past 48 hours, and while the fighting has been heavy, only one rebel casualty has been sustained, and Gaddafi forces have yet to make any headway.

The AU reports that Gaddafi will not take direct part in negotiations to end the conflict, The rebels have again reiterated that if he does not agree to step down, they will not negotiate.

YEMEN
Saleh is set to make a speech in the next 48 hours, though state TV says he will not appear as the media expects due to extensive burns from the rocket attack.

the UNSC has decided to allow the GCC to continue to mediate the Yemeni conflict in their stead, this after Saudi Arabia(part of the GCC) said they will resist Saleh's extradition as long as possible.

SYRIA
in the towns of Kseir, Jisr al-Shughour and Khirbet al-Joz, Turkey says tanks are stationed every 50 meters according to satellite surveillance.

The Syrian government still maintains it is cleansing the towns of 'militant groups' and is protecting the people.

Iran is now accusing the EU and NATO of conducting a mass 'crusade' against the middle east, after the EU reported seeing Iranian Revolutionary Guard entering Syria to assist Assad.

Oh this again?

Helping people in the middle east to live and survive is now a crusade?

I always thought the crusades were to invade, conquer and spread stuff like religion into the populace.

I guess i need to go to iran for my history and RE lessons i clearly missed somethings.
oh come now, a bunch of mostly christian nations trying to do something in a mostly muslim area of the world couldn't be about anything other than religion right?

we all still subscribe to the same ideals as we did in the 1200s

Many of the people in the countries in which we are helping want us to help. Libyan rebels are one example and we saw people burning Chinese and Russian flags when they stopped us helping in other countries.

This is a very different situation to the one in those times

Except Turkey, a NATO member and mostly Muslim nation, is taking one of the hardest stances here. Not to mention how Qatar is doing a lot for Libya and the Arab League supported a no-fly zone in the first place.

Libyan rebels are now saying they will not negotiate with any member of Gaddafi's family.

In Spain protests held by Spanish citizens demanded the Syrian ambassador be expelled, and pushed for action against Syria.

it's a facetious statement. It is far from a crusade.(I know Turkey is muslim)

What we know:

US is planning to goad Syria into a war on or around July 24th.

Iran is the endgame, with not only their oil as the motivation, but also getting an extension on the US debt ceiling. If we're not at war by August 2 it's likely that it won't happen. 3 carriers are now in position to strike Iran.

who are you and how can you confirm this information?

also, a war in Syria is most likely going to happen in days, not a month.

if you are refering to the George HW Bush Battle group, that's only one carrier, and they are there to put a little bit of weight behind the US's words on Syria.

I also think you are just tossing random crap out there based on nothing.
