I don't think they would rebuild unless on the verge of war outside of Europe they learned their lesson.

Why dont we let them build their military? Everyone who does history knows that WW1, was definetly not Germanys fault. And the way we treated Germany afterwards led to WW2. There is no reason for Germany not to be allowed an army

LIBYA
The Canadian General in charge has said that letting up in the Libyan bombing campaign would be a grave mistake. The Canadian Government has also supported him in saying that a 'Diplomatic resolution at this point would be "inappropriate" in light of recent events' The bombing campaign will continue until Gaddafi forces disarm and surrender, and not before.

It appears that the ICC will also be seeking further arrest warrants against Gaddafi to strengthen the political push they carry.

YEMEN
Saleh should address the public today

SYRIA
Opposition leaders say that the government sanctioned meeting yesterday felt like a charade.

About 1000 refugees left Turkey to return home today.

They have taken the vast majority of the country. Tripoli and the surrounding towns such as Sirte are still under regime control, and Gaddafi does still occupy some rural pockets across the country.

Did they ever retake those towns along the post such as Ras Lanuf?

Because the mods were being idiotic. Lonepaul made a thread about it and now he's banned.

There's still a Gaddafi controlled zone between Ajdabiya and Misurata, which includes Ras Lanuf and Brega.

Off the main topic, the thread is now unlocked, it was locked due to a 'note to the mods' section I had in the OP about bumping the thread that was put in 3 months ago to try and get this thread going. I don't feel I actually even had to do so, but please everybody don't bump, lets keep this going, even with 3 or 4 posts a day, alot of people read this thread without posting. The section on the OP has been edited to read:
I no longer feel a need to bump this, and have now discussed with the mods that any form of bumping will result in this thread being locked, it has a life of it's own, and a community that keeps it alive. That said, while I did put in a note that I would bump, I don't feel I have in any way. I will maintain the thread with daily updates to the point where I see a second update will be right beside the last day's post. At that point the thread will die. Thanks for your time and dedication to the world at large.

Libyan rebels seize massive weapons depot

Yemen bombs anti-government tribal area i don't like where this is going.

I think what we should do now is:

Take out Gaddifi by either killing him or just sending in a squad to get him alive.

Tell Turkey to put tanks on the border just incase Syria do try it but also tell them not to fire until Syria takes the first shot.

The weapons depot is great news, They are already winning consistantly in that part of the country, the higher end weapons and Anti-tank weapons will be a big boon to their force.

Yemeni bombing, not good at all. especially with the UN envoy now in the country.

for number 1: we are working on it...

for number 2: doing that would escalate things something we don't want to do now. even if those talks with the opposition is more of a show, we need to humor it... for now.

all i can say is that Bashar for the moment has stopped a massive war. for all know the moving of NATO assets around Syria was just to increase the pressure on Bashar.

Opposition fighters have managed to capture a munitions dump from Gaddafi forces in the west of the country, near the town of Zintan - a move that is seen as a major victory for the fighters as they make their way to Tripoli.

Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull, reporting from the nearby Jadu, said that finding the stash will be an "enormous morale-booster" for the fighters, who he said have been working with limited weaponry and had been anxiously eyeing the weapons dump:

They had eyes on the place, they'd been watching it, we'd been told, for quite some time now. Just last week this collection of weapons depots was hit by a powerful NATO bomb ... it made such a blast that people here thought that there was an earthquake.' ...

But it wasn't and earthquake, and after an early morning attach, Hull said that "just about every man with wheels" drove across the desert to load up his vehicle with munitions.

Good news. And does anyone have any info on the rebels in Tripoli or if there are rebels in Tripoli? I thought i saw reports of rebels taking control of some areas in Tripoli. There seems to be nothing on them at the moment, like they were all just wiped out
