Germany has agreed to now support the Libyan bombing campaign, supplying the alliance with bombs.

Opposition fighters have managed to capture a munitions dump from Gaddafi forces in the west of the country, near the town of Zintan - a move that is seen as a major victory for the fighters as they make their way to Tripoli.

Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull, reporting from the nearby Jadu, said that finding the stash will be an "enormous morale-booster" for the fighters, who he said have been working with limited weaponry and had been anxiously eyeing the weapons dump:

They had eyes on the place, they'd been watching it, we'd been told, for quite some time now. Just last week this collection of weapons depots was hit by a powerful NATO bomb ... it made such a blast that people here thought that there was an earthquake.' ...

But it wasn't and earthquake, and after an early morning attach, Hull said that "just about every man with wheels" drove across the desert to load up his vehicle with munitions.

Good news. And does anyone have any info on the rebels in Tripoli or if there are rebels in Tripoli? I thought i saw reports of rebels taking control of some areas in Tripoli. There seems to be nothing on them at the moment, like they were all just wiped out

They just vanished. nothing was said from the regime about destroying them, so I assume they just melted away again.

good to see Germany doing something, probably because of public opinion.

wouldn't they need to take Brega and Sirt to link all forces in a united front?

Edit: actually to link all fronts they may need to push to a town called Bani Waled which is on the south west road from Misrata,

which they would need tanks to get that far, or adequate NATO air support. and they can not over extend themselves again.

LIBYA
France has started parachute dropping weapons, ammunition, rockets and aid supplies into the western mountains. While France originally denied having asked permission from NATO to do so, Charles Bouchard(Commanding General) has said that he gave authorization for the drops.

With the Rebels now being armed by NATO, NATO is coaching the rebels to take about an month to a month and a half to build a united front before moving on Tripoli. The ICC expects Gaddafi will be in custody within 60 days.

The BRICS (personal aside: they appear to have named their anti-NATO alliance now)group(Russia, China, India, Brazil and South Africa) have again reiterated the need for a political, non-military end to the Libyan Crisis.

YEMEN
bombing attacks escalate in Yemen, with the Government destroying a bus and several car bombs detonating and killing military officials.

SYRIA

last i checked BRICS was a economic group.

we even know what France is dropping in for the rebels? i would assume AT4's and FAMAS rifles.

no idea exactly, but it would make sense for it to be AT4s and FAMAS rifles, along with ammunition.

As to BRICS, it may well be an economic group, but they are tossing it around like a military alliance... at least in regards to Libya and Syria.

Egypt, the people said they wouldn't stop until there was an election.

as for Syria, I hope we are stepping away from the brink, but the city they withdrew from is one they have no affinity for, they blew Hama to smithereens once before, whey may be withdrawing just to bombard it.

looks like NATO is pretty disgruntled with France dropping weapons to the rebels. NATO had known about French airdrops in the area, marking what Charles Bouchard had acknowledged, but were under the impression that they were just humanitarian supplies.

At the same time as NATO frowns on the matter they do admit that resolution 1973's 'by any means necessary' clause may open a legal door for UN countries to arm the rebels despite the arms embargo in place before resolution 1973, talk also says that clause may allow for ground forces to be put on the ground, if 'necessary'

I read a story that said that the dialogue would include the Southern Separatist Movement.
