Been there done that bought the T-shirt.

On a more upsetting note, the Associated Press has put NAVY SEAL lives at serious risk. They deliberately published images of SEALS with a POW that appeared to be abused but was later revealed not to be the case. The images do not conceal the operators faces and the families of the SEALS have recieved death threats from an Arab TV network. The Navy is still investigating but as for right now the SEALS have filed a lawsuit against A.P.. AP has countered claiming that the public has the right to see the photos and are claiming that the Operators are covering their asses for their actions.

See people, the public does NOT have the right to know what happens in a combat zone. No mater what the excuse, you...have...no...right.
The general idea of special forces is for nobody to know who the hell they are to be effective. *sigh* I knew I was right about all the fame those guys where getting.
We don't exist to be heroes, we simply do not exist...period. Apparently America cannot understand this.
To be fair in the UK everybody is after the SAS although i'll give them credit they don't give out names or anything just the fact that they did certain things.
As far as the U.N. is concerned, both U.S. and U.K. special forces are authorized to operate outside the Rules of Engagement. If they're deployed to get something done then whatever they do is legal.
alot of special forces operate outside of the standard ROE, that said they are still bound by their own set of rules.

as to the issue of the public not being aware of operations, I disagree. the position of JTF2 in the public eye is ideal. Their ops are declassified within 3 months of them happening, but are quietly released with no names involved.

Libya is blessed with vast reservoirs of oil and water. However both need electricity to get them out of the ground.

Muammar Gadaffi, Libya's longtime leader, has tried to deny access to these resources, by cutting electricity from opposition strongholds in the east of Libya.

Is it me, or are people using the word "stalemate" too easily? I mean, the last stalemate didnt last long and stalemate suggests that both sides cant do anything to defeat each other. But the rebels are still steadily pushing forward towards Tripoli.

Lots to report on Libya

Britain is expelling all of Gaddafis diplomats from the country and has unfrozen about 150 million dollars for the NTC to use.

Also Libyan expats have created the first political party in Benghazi, calling itself the New Libya Party

SYRIA
The rate of disappearances in Syria has raised to a person an hour.

Protests are to be held across the country on Friday in protest of the world not being involved, and to ask for western intervention.

LIBYA
Around Misurata, the rebels led a raid behind Gaddafi lines to evacuate civilians and bring them back to their homes in Misurata as the rebels gear up for a push on the Eastern front.

In a display of their promise for gender equality, the first all-female rebel brigade finished training in Benghazi and headed to the frontline near Brega.

The rebels in Benghazi have sold the last of their oil reserves for much needed money. The British parliament has unfrozen some funds for the Rebels to use.

Rebels in the Western mountains have seized the last Gaddafi held boarder crossing to Tunisia, they also stormed a number of camps around the town of Zintan, and now control the entire Nalut region.

Gaddafi has said he will 'sacrifice everything' before giving up power.

The TNC is expected to open official embassy in London(Britain), Ottawa(Canada) and Washington DC(USA) in the next month. In the case of Britain and Canada, the TNC will take over the now abandoned Gaddafi embassies.

EGYPT
Hosni Mubarak will be tried in court next week. Doctors ruled he is well enough to be moved from hospital.

YEMEN
1 million protesters turned out in Sanaa to beg the army to protect the revolution in the wake of the al-Qeada militia being pushed back.

While al-Qeada has been pushed back in the country, the terror organization still poses a threat in south Yemen.

LIBYA
The rebel Chief of Staff has been assassinated in Benghazi.

The Gaddafi cell responsible for killing him were either killed themselves or captured, but it has stopped, for the time, the rebel push of the last few days.

A number of sites including al-Jazeera, BBC, CBC and a number of other news sites.

My main source is the al-Jazeera live blogs. As they are based nearby, they have the most extensive coverage. Links to most of my sources are in the OP.

China should stop with its' mass deployment if they don't want us spying on them.
Why should they stop just because America wants them to?

Im sorry but its their business not America's, besides everybody has spies everywhere im 100% sure American spies are in Britain and vise-versa. So if allies spy on each other then your gonna spy on your future enemy to.
If I could show you sat-recon I would. This isn't a standard deployment. This is very aggressive movement.
Aggressive towards what? Sure it's not some sort of drill?

Also, we still use U-2's? I though we replaced those with the SR-71 and then replaced that with spy satellites and now drones.

So simple yet full of meaning. Makes you feel that helping out is worth it doesn't it.

Might become one of those ever famous humanitarian pieces of media, like that kid infront of the tank in china.

No one has posted anything referring to the death of the Rebel Leader. If you could find something and quote it that'll save me a lot of time going back through like 30 pages.

It's the front page fool. On the bottom of the report, the rebel chief of staff was assasinated.
