Bashir Sewehli, a Libyan activist, tells Al Jazeera that the clashes in Tripoli are still ongoing.

"The military airport is under control of the rebels, and there are other areas in and around Tripoli as well. The rebels are wating for reinforcements.

The news has not been coming through because of the fighting, but we will know more in the next coming hours. The rebel fighters that I have spoken to said they will not go home until this

This could be bad. If the rebels from Misrata and the western mountains cant get to Tripoli to help the fighters there, they could be in a bad situation

Good to see the rebels in Tripoli, the war should be over in a few hours if they are 5 blocks away if they went from the outskirts to a half a mile from Gaddafi's compound that fast. wait are they clearing out buildings?

Rebels from Misurata have successfully made landfall and taken Tripoli's port. about 200 rebels covertly bypassed the Gaddafi port defences and are now assisting the first assault group.

Rebels from the Nafusa mountain region in the west, including the 'Tripoli brigade' are held up at an overpass 27 km away from the new front line.

In Brega the rebels had to retreat from the oil refinery, but have now retaken it.

The rebels have taken an additional 5 neighbourhoods in Tripoli making the total 8, confirmed by a BBC journalist who is with the assault force.

3 more are contested. The rebels say they want to take Gaddafi alive and are aiming at surrounding his complex as to cut off his escape.

The rebels took over the national mobile company's headquarters in Tripoli and have shut it's services down to hinder Gaddafi movements as NATO's Commando Solo(US) and two Canadian Auroras are jamming Radio communications. Reports say repeated airstrikes have been witnessed.

might want to add Rebels in Tripoli to the title Phoenix

are they checking buildings? Gaddafi could have a whole regiment waiting to attack at this point.

if were lucky this will be over in 24 hours.

i would assume they are checking buildings, they have a whack of momentum now though. so even if they are, they are moving fast

I don't think anyone saw some of the residents of Tripoli rising up, which is what kick started this thing

title was updated when I fist found out. It only shows that way on the fist page for some reason though.

Rebels in Tripoli! That is great! With a bit of luck, this whole thing will be over by Monday. That would be nice. I'm also glad to see the progress in other countries, like the Transitional Council in Syria. This has really cam a long way.

to be honest, American press must care to much about their Sunday talk shows, there is nothing on TV here about the Tripoli fighting.

German has sent Special Forces into Libya to protect their diplomat.

In addition, the situation at Gaza appears to be heating up a bit.

The Syrian President is also expected to perform a rare TV address later on Sunday.

You know what I find weird. The BBC and western media in general are all reporting that the rebels are all out for Tripoli yet RT (not Rooster Teeth) are reporting nothing is happening at all.
