The cake is a pie

Well well well, pheonix. Here we are, on the edge of a moment in history. Big thanks to your thread dude, you're nothing short of a journalist.

Anywhom, I wish to shed my ideas on what I have seen in the Libyan people now that Tripoli is as good as overthrown. It looks grim; The people of Tripoli seem hellbent on the destruction of Gadaffi. A good thing yes? Nope.avi. If you would recall, this entire shenanigan was built on the need for freedome, for democracy and for peace. None of these are on peoples minds. So far all I have seen is the public's tsunami of hate against Gadaffi and their lust for violence. This is not what you build a new nation on. Hence,It is my firm belief that the NTC need to get a hold on the TV stations and calm the people. They need the best of the best leaders to let fly speeches, not of victory, but of encouragement. They need to ask people, both rebel and loyalist, to take a step back and calm down. Oh and THEN they need to perform full coverage, biased coverage no less, in a news report on the ethical progress of the arab spring.

What does the rebel flag look like?

I do believe it's black with red on top and green underfoot, with a moon and star in the middle.

And I don't think they're the 'rebels' any more :P

Its good to see that the rebels basically control Tripoli. Did any of Gaddafis forces try to attack the rebels?

Mohamed is the Colonel's son. Gadaffis name is 'Muamar'.

The revolution will take it's toll. I suspect Libya will spend a while cleaning up the nation after the revoultion, but it will leave a permanent mark in Libya's history.

Democracy, -blam!-.

CNN is now saying that the Rebels have captured 3 of Gaddafi's sons.
That makes all of them

Now they need to get Moatassem and Khamis.

  • 08.22.2011 8:28 AM PDT

it appears that the Rebels now control 90% of the city now. there is currently no word about Gaddafi being captured.

Why are we so obsessed with capturing him? I mean yes he should be brought to justice, but shouldn't priority 1 be getting the nation under controll, and priority 2 establishing democracy?

I can't see any possible way he can escape. And all the troops being pulled back to the compound...

He is still in Libya and he is in that compound.

EVERYONE is saying it. However, on a positive note...he can't cause any more trouble. Either way, he has no power anymore.

He's still in Libya.

And Scud missiles are being launched from Sirte.

he could of gone to Gaddafi's compound to attempt to help. or he could be going into hiding as to not be charged by the ICC or NTC.

CNN is reporting planes over Zawiya.
