The First foreign national fighting along side the rebels in Libya has been killed. Nader Benrewin, a Canadian, was gunned down by a sniper when he and a group of rebels stormed the Gaddafi compound on August 23rd.

Gadaffi is not a bad dictator. Sure it is not democratic but he sure as hell is a good leader. Prosperity as far as the eye can see, happy people and healthy economic growth. Russia actually stated their satellites showed no evidence of bombing his own people and I have seen videos of a million people rallied in support of Gadaffi. Not only that there are numerous reports of the Arab rebels killing blacks. That and it is likely they are extremists. -blam!- the rebels, Gadaffi didn't do anything bad. The US started this crap when he started trading oil in a different currency.

Oh my God, if there's anything I hate more than Gaddafi is idiots like you who make such a retarded claim! AND YES, YOU ARE AN IDIOT! I'm a Libyan. ASK ME HOW GADDAFI HAS TREATED US!

You want to know what Gaddafi has done for the Libyan people? NOTHING!

- "Prosperity": Libya is ranked in the low 100's in terms of Education, Infrastructure, and medicine. Despite libya ranking as 7th in terms of natural wealth, NOT ONE LIBYAN has ever gone to a Libyan hospital to get treated or have surgery for illnesses and injuries. This includes treatment for Diabetes, cancer, EVEN ORAL SURGERY! 60% of travels outside the country are for medical treatment. Dont even get me started on the education and infrastructure that have been neglected SINCE THE 1970s! HOW THE HELL ARE WE DAMN PROSPERIOUS!?

- "Happy people": Tell that to the thousands of families who've had their family members imprisoned for 5, 10, 20 years JUST BECAUSE THE WENT TO PRAY IN A MOSQUE! Tell that to the people who in the 70's had to watch a live broadcast of people being hanged RIGHT BEFORE THEY COULD BREAK THEIR RAMADAN FAST! And why do you say they were hanged? BECAUSE THEY SPOKE OUT AGAINST THE REGIME.

- "Healthy Economic growth": Libya is the richest country with the poorest people. EVERY...SINGLE...PROJECT that deals with either construction, rebuilding, and growing socio/economic status was either owned or stolen by Gaddafi, his family, or his goons. and those that are owned by normal citizens, were thwarted with so much red-tape that it caused them to go bankrupt.

- "no evidence of him bombing his own people": TELL THAT TO THE PEOPLE IN BENGHAZI WHEN TENS OF GRAD MISSILES WERE LAUNCHED AT THEM! TELL THAT TO THE TENS OF BUILDINGS THAT HAVE DEMOLISHED DUE TO HIM USING MISSILES, CANNONS, AND RPGs. TELL THAT TO THE PEOPLE OF AZ-ZAWIA who i've seen with my own eyes hundreds of homes bullet ridden and holes that were as big as your body due to tank fire.

- "Millions of people rallied in support of Gadaffi": TELL THAT TO THE THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES IN TRIPOLI WHO WERE THREATENED WITH DEATH IF THEY DID NOT COME OUT TO SUPPORT HIM. TELL THAT TO THE TENS OF FAMILIES THAT REFUSED TO GO OUT AND IN RESPONSE WERE MET WITH MERCENARIES WHO FORCED OUT THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AND SHOT THEM DEAD IN THE STREET.

- "they are extremists": How the hell are we extremists? how the hell would you react when you come out the street, hold a banner saying you want reform, and end up with a sniper bullet in the head? how would you react when you see your own father is being hung in front of your eyes only because he spoke out about the corruption in the land? WE ARE EXTREMISTS!?

- "Gaddafi didn't do anything bad": I swear to god you are retarded. if that's what you really believe then i would be more than glad to offer you a bunk in his jail cell and lets see how much you enjoy being his little playmate. THE BASTARD EVEN SAID, and i quote, "Those who DONT LOVE Gaddafi, deserve death". WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO FORCE ME TO LOVE YOU!?

dont go around trolling about crap you have ZERO knowledge about. me and 6 million libyans have stood up together and all of us said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! NOT NATO, NOT THE US, NOT CANADA, NOT THE EU, LIBYANS! EU/NATOs support was insurmountable. and for that, every single libyan is grateful for their help. Though even though we are eternally grateful, we will NEVER accept foreign bases in our country. this is OUR land. We will rule OURSELVES. we will elect OUR OWN. No puppets, no outside intervention, no mysterious men behind the scenes. Just an open, fair, lawful, and transparent government.

Finally, just for your own little brain to take in, Libya used to have a constitution under the Monarchy before Daffy dissolved and removed it. In the span of less than 6 months, the Libyan NTC has drafted a temporary constitution https://docs.google.com/document/d/18A-J8_C4Tqj52yynxQOU vG16_AfT7v4J35npqpndSR0/edit?hl=en_US. I suggest you read it. It was translated though Google Translate, so some wordings might come out odd, but the message is clear. Libya will be free. Libya will be a democracy. Libyans will get the prosperity and respect they deserve. Equality will finally be given. In essence, Libyans will finally get the basic human rights that was stripped away by this bastard's 42 years bloody ruling.

...sigh...i swear to God you piss me off.

Yup, if not today then within the next few days. Their plan from the beginning is to move to Tripoli asap to show that Benghazi is not taking over, and that we were serious when we said that Tripoli is and will always be our capital.

Daffy has spent decades pinning the east against the west. Them moving to Tripoli at the soonest possible time is to show unity and solidarity and to bring the east and west together.

as for the mustard gas...i only hope to god that they've been destroyed. my cousin almost died when they were hit by the poison. Thank God the wind was blowing the other direction and instead blew the gas back at the daffy forces who threw it.

Then please explain to me why special forces where known to be on the ground and nobody cared, but as soon as Britain sent some C&C experts over China and Russia started complaining that Britain was pushing the its luck and that those experts could be considered boots on the ground.

I heard the SEAL teams where not allowed on American soil so does that mean they are boots on the ground in an area with conflicts going on? No.

Nobody cared because it was reported once on TV, and barely any people heard of it. Not to mention the fact that there are people like you who think special forces are there because they "want to be".

It's no wonder nobody cares, if you've been brain washed to think stupid -blam!- like that.
Special Forces are called in primarily for two main reasons. The first is deniable ops, a good example of this is Operation Trident. The second reason is at the request of our allies or anyone in desperate need of our help and is not a big fan of causing a big commotion.

That still doesn't say thath there were/are no boots on the ground.

Sure it doesn't mean there's an army there, but it's still a decently sized force.
"Boots on the ground" refers to conventional invasion forces. And besides, it was never confirmed if Spec-Force were deployed. No one confirmed nor denied their presence.

Lets be fair here. If you are speaking literally, then yes, there are foreign boots in Libya.

but in actuality, they are there for training and providing forms of logistics and communication. From my understanding, "Boots on the ground" means a fighting force on foreign soil fighting its people.

Libyans already knew the controversy this caused in Iraq, and in actuality we didn't want others to kill our own (even if they were enemies). That is why we accepted aid, equipment, and training, but not a ground fighting force. I can tell you everyone in Libya knows where foreign commandos are training libyan troops. we also know of special forces, even rumors of CIA operatives, who are training libyans.

The end result is to give the citizens a fighting chance against Daffy's already fully trained battalions and mercenaries.

so Loyalists have deployed mustard gas before. i hope that was a isolated incident and not ordered by the -blam!- himself, or my fears may be more realistic then i though.

no, they deployed them several times. though i dont think it was a vastly used weapon.

not to mention they launched several SCUD missiles from Sirt, which is one of three of four last remaining small cities where loyalists still in control. Troops are massing now for a possible march to Sirt.

it appears the Rebels have entered the tunnels under Gaddafi's compound. to be frank its a huge labyrinthine. they did find he TV studio though so there is something that can be used by the ICC.

I like Halo: Reach. I think its a fun game. What i DON'T like about it is that the maps such as SwordBase is terrible. I don't hate armor lock, but i can say it can sometimes get annoying. Bloom doesn't bother me either.

Rebels and NATO are fighting Loyalists in Qaddafi's hometown.

good, the final assault begins. Gaddafi is also most likely in Sirt.

also seems like the Loyalist pocket near the Civilian Airport is shrinking.

The Arab Spring

Like everything else in the middle east, is a pointless act that will only kill people.

Sure Ghaddafis' regime has ended, and whoevers next in line will put on "the good guy act" until the worlds attention is elsewhere then (like always) the leaders will spiral down the slide of corruption, the people will put up with it, and eventually stage another so-called "Revolution" and once again act as if they are out for a "free nation", when all everyone wants is to be the next power hungry leader.

The Arab Spring, and the Middle East as a whole is a lost cause, NATO should keep its nose where it will actually make a lasting change, and not an act for the next power hungry leader to take power.

but thats just my two cents.

Gaddafi's African 'mercenaries' leaving Libya so that leaves Gaddafi with about 200-1000 fanatics in Sirte.

I can sort of see youre opinion. Gaddafi himself came into power through a revolution. The history of places like Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti are filled with dictator, after dictator, overthrowing each other

Gaddafi is reportedly ready to transfer power to the NTC. The rebels(I think its safe to now acknowledge them as the Libyan government, but to reduce confusion I will refer to them as rebels) will not negotiate with him unless he first turns himself in to stand trial.

The rebels took Tripoli earlier today. :D
They took it almost a week ago, however the fighting in a few neighborhoods seems to have stopped now.
