Coalition reports that Gaddafi Forces have not taken the city of Misurata, saying they can observe fierce fighting still occurring in the city.

Is there any word on who is poised to win? Al Jazeera and CNN just say that fighting is still occurring.

Damn, thanks anyway. I guess the length of the battle is a decent sign that Gadaffi forces are losing strength.

Actually speaking of that:

U.S. official: Gadhafi's momentum stopped. Gadffi forces have been stalemated at locations they were poised to take just two days ago.

Lol whys Russia got so much beef againts this?

On the surface it's because they don't believe in the use of force. Personally I think that they hate the idea of intervention against dictators and liberation because their own populace is protesting Russia for the same reasons (Chechnya).

CNN correspondent Nic Robertson dismisses a report by Fox News that journalists in Libya were used by Gaddafi's forces as human shields. He says the allegation is "outrageous and it's absolutely hypocritical".

"When you come to somewhere like Libya, you expect lies and deceit from the dictatorship here. You don't expect it from the other journalists."

Also

Al Jazeera correspondent Anita McNaught says the government claims there have been heavy civilian casualties in coalition attacks on two major airports. Journalists have been invited to visit hospitals on Tuesday.

Russia isn't unified on the Libyan situation. Medvedev criticized Putin for drawing crusade parallels

Only one in three Britons agree with the decision to take military action in Libya, according to a poll published on Monday. The ComRes/ITN survey found that 43 per cent disagreed with the action and 22 per cent were unsure.

But in parliament, British legislators voted 557 to 13 in favour of military involvement.

US GROUND FORCES IN LIBYA

Two american F15 pilots ejected due to mechanical failure. Those pilots are now in US hands. How are they already in US hands if we dont have any boots on the ground? American ground forces are clearly in libya.
Seal team.
Actually it was Canadian JTF-2 forces who located and secured the pilot's crash site, they then handed the pilots over to a US Osprey crew, who then extracted them

Canadian JTF-2 special forces have been on the ground in Libya since before the no-fly zone as security for groups like the red cross, and have stayed in the country since. Note they are not there as part of the coalition initiative, but rather as security for Humanitarian aid.

When you have a downed pilot all bets are off, you do whatever it takes to get him back safe. So in a sense, they didn't lie. The troops are back on their ship.

oh yea like i said they should be allowed to do their job. im the last person to advocate leaving a man behind but they seem to be a little less forthcoming with the information than they should be. they have plenty of men waiting to hit the sand full force.
UN mandate does not allow for ground troops to be deployed as part of this operation.
