I agree that we have to step in in this situation. We are the number 1 military in the world, although the UN can handle it themselves. We're already involved in other affairs.

I'm aware of this. But we as a country should get out now. 1. Obama didn't talk to congress about it, what is he? King? 2. We're already involved in two bad situations. A. Being Afghanistan B. Our economy.

How are we saving money buy spending millions of dollars on ordnance being dropped and given to other countries?

America has to pull out now.

America is the main Super power, they are 1st point of call normally for that reason. But the US will not do something without consulting other nations mostly the UK.

Afghanistan is nearly over anyway the country is being given to its own armed forces and police, all we are doing to fighting what few insurgents there are left and training the home forces to take over.

And the Economy will be fixed straight after the conflicts are done. If anything you'll get a new currency. The UK has just hit £100 billion but we are still involved in these conflicts with just over 50% wanting to continue while the rest want the economy to be sorted.

I believe sometimes you need to ignore your own problems to help those that are worse off. People ignore this and think selflessly. And normally once one persons problem is fixed they could in turn offer to help you. Its the same for countries if we help out libya perhaps they would give back the UK the oil rigs and such and possibly at a discount as a thank you and help us spend less thus helping our economy.

Or something.

I'm very skeptical of helping these people. I believe a Terrorist group is going to use these to seize power in the ME. How can anyone tell that this isn't going to bite everyone in the ass later on? I'm split between this. I want us to help but then again I'm thinking of repercussions of all of our efforts.

I'd say help out now, but keep a keen eye on them. If you were a organization bent on taking over the middle east, you would use this civil war to capture the power, wouldn't you?

I don't think its a problem to be honest. They are fighting to get rid of could be terrorist groups that have corrupted their government and want democracy like the west. Chances are if another corrupt government goes in they will riot again.

The countries who rebelled want to be like the west they would not put in another dictator willingly and more than likely would not keep them their. Even if something bad does happen the west can over through them easily.

I can't think of anything they could do to threaten us really unless they somehow decide to invade Europe again.

Then again it could just be my trusting nature, and wanting to give everybody a chance and help them before myself lol.

They unite under a common flag, not democracy or anything thing else.

That thing is Islam. Read the Quran, it says the infidels(meaning people who aren't Muslims) shall convert or perish. Also it says it is spread by the sword. Meaning by war.

back to the news end, we are supporting these pro democracy uprisings.

on the note of what you said though the Quran also makes a point of saying that Jews and Christians don't need to be converted, they already pray to the same God. and yet the extremists fight against Jews and Christians primarily. They use religion as a cover, not as the underlying reason.

regardless, lets stay out of flame war territory and on topic.

Some major events here: First Gaddafi forces successfully pushed troops into the town of Misurata, taking control of the hospital. here they set up snipers and have been firing at anyone who moves. Rebels are asking for a hospital ship there as there is now no medical facilities in the city. Coalition forces bombed all forces outside of the city, however reinforcements are expected.

The Town of Zintan is under heavy artillery fire from Gaddafi forces, Coalition is yet to respond

The Rebels announced the creation of a Interim Government based in Benghazi, this will hold until such a time as elections are possible.

Though word on if NATO will take command is unclear, Canadian Brig. Gen. Pierre St. Amand has taken command of NATO forces in Libya.

A Thank you demonstration to take place in Benghazi today to show thanks to Coalition support.

If we want to end this conflict quickly, i think we need boots on the ground. Perhaps only Arab boots to make the whole misssion look better, but atm the no fly zone isnt enough.

Erm, no it doesn't.

I'm a Muslim, I know my own faith, and what you just said was either completely wrong or a misinterpreted verse.

Regardless, let's not turn this into a religious debate.

The Libyan people (provided they win this war) will probably chose a government that's pro-Western judging from their organization of a thank you demonstration for coalition forces.

Rebels loot the crashed american fighter for as many parts as possible to boost its armoury.
not true, the Americans bombed the remains so no arms could be recovered
