Canada is the worlds 14th largest arms dealer. America is #1, with Russia as #2 and Germany as #3. I know its off topic but I thought you should know.
I thought i made it clear i was referring to military hardware, of all forms, not just weapons, but vehicles, armour, etc.

anyhow this is off topic

Arms counts any and all military hardware (Ships, missiles, tanks, APCs, even vehicle engines). Just so you know.
And are you Canadian?
Sorry about the off-topic-ness, but I just thought I should correct you
Yes i am Canadian, I have studied this quite thoroughly in University, even writing a paper on North American Military exports.

I know my stuff

Are you speaking per capita or over all?
Again sorry for the off topic-ness

ok, reading through what you linked,(lets keep the all caps turned off)

Koussa is 'reported' to be in London. That doesn't mean confirmed, and that kind of info is already in the OP.

as to CIA involvement again is heresay. i can't find anything other than SKY news that says it, and it also says 'it is said' which is media speak for 'rumour' not 'fact'

i'll add that bit in to the OP as a rumour, but lets keep it in perspective.

I wouldn't rule it out as JTF-2 is confirmed as in Libya, and the SAS is rumoured to be there.

Syrian President refuses to make any concession in a speech today

He's stalling for time, from the looks of it. I can't think of a reason for why he's stalling though.

Maybe North Korea will attack? who knows what will happen.

Yeah, -blams- really hit the fan over there. Any news from Yemen?
yeah actually, just added it to the OP, the Yemeni President has suggested giving power to a transitional government over time. The protesters however are demanding that they take all power imediately

I understand. I was reffering to total arms production and exportation i.e. number of units sold, not on GDP.

Apperntly the rebels plan to stop offensive measures at Sirte, Gaddafis home town. Thats actually smart as gaddafi support is much greater in Tripoli and in the west, and i think the rebels could hold the east without overextending themselves. But they made it clear that if the people in tripoli wanted to rebel, they would offer weapons and assistance.

Cant really give source, it was in the news and in newspapers

indeed, officially JTF-2 is there as a security force for Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations, however the rebels have been reporting that they are trying to build a command structure for the rebels and have been actively marking targets for the coalition.

there are 250 of them there, and that is the largest number of them ever to be confirmed as in one place, let alone as operating, not so surprising as they have only ever had 3 confirmed operations, even though they are NATO's first response anti terror group.

UPDATE on Koussa.

He has officially resigned as of 2 minutes ago

this comes as a heavy blow to Gaddafi as he was the Regime's right hand. At one point he ran the Libyan nuclear program and was a chief strategist for Gaddafi before becoming a foreign minister

no word on CSOR, or Arrowhead SOFCOM has been really quiet. they even kept the JTF-2 news down, and has only been mentioned once by Harper in a live interview.

we don't even know how many people are actually in JTF-2, could be only 300, or as many as 3000. I know 3 people who are in or once were JTF-2 members, and they are super tight lipped about this. then again, they can't even tell you when they go on vacation

According to my friend, most unit members have silent rule of "don't ask and definatly do not tell" rule, so the tight lip-ness is to be expected, especially when concerning an active deployment, info will be hard to come by, though I would expect to see at least a few members of CSOR and Arrowhead deployed, as CSOR is described as "a cross between the US Army Rangers and the Green Berets", meaning both full combat and low key missions are on the table for them, while Arrowhead is technically supposed to take "JTF-2's place as Canada's out of country anti-terror unit and is trained to respond to and assist in anti-terror operations around the world", essentially saying that Arrowhead will be used in places like Libya or Afghan while JTF-2 will be re-purposed into a more "at home", more regional anti-terror unit.
Edit: Wikipedia and several Canadian news sources (A news, CTV and CBC) have estimated JTF-2 member strength to hover around 450 to 650 memebers from all Canadian Forces Branches.

Arrowhead is also made up of alot of ex-JTF-2 guys. however, i suspect we won't know what they actually did for years to come. We still don't have any word on what they did in 2001 when they were first on the ground in Afghanistan.

Talks about arming the rebels has been discussed in London at the weeks Libya Conference. IF the coalition decides to start arming the rebels they will only give them anti-tank weapons such as Javelins. The Isrealites have offered to supply anti-tank SPIKE rockets
