also, there are reports that a NATO airstrike hit some rebels

That's a shame. Unfortunately things are unclear in war. I hope not too many people were hurt.

i still can't find info on it, thats my problem

but this falls in the fog of war category, these things happen

I was concerned about everything else, until I saw, "Fighting has erupted in Bahrain."
My cousin is stationed there...

Hate to disappoint but no Marines have made landfall.

And? You may think the Army is full of -blam!-es, but trust me... you are incredibly wrong.
Marines aren't exactly the badasses you think they are. Every one gets worried in combat.

actually, someone said the Marine Corps site said there were units getting ready for landfall in Libya, but it must of been a very unneeded April Fools joke

we do know there are about 400 Marines (or about a Battalion of) Marines on the USS Kearsarge which should still be stationed off Libya's coast

Red Team shooting at Griff...
Sarge: Donut your going out of turn!
Donut: What i thought that was my turn?
Sarge: No no no we go in a line, it goes you then me, then Simmons then back down to me then you, then me then me, then Simmons then me Simmons, me Simmons you Simmons me me me Simmons you, me..... then me again... IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!

People just bear in mind that this not only effects Libya and could have far reaching effects into the way the rest of the Middle East/ North Africa is dealt with.

as of 20 min ago, all US Strike mission have ended

no more Tomahawks have been fired

a EU/NATO airstrike has killed 13 Rebels

with all do respect, Washington needs to wake the -blam!- up RIGHT NOW

also the USS Bataan Battlegroup should be in the area now

found it, west bank

this is odd, i know there were protests going on in Palestine but i don't think this is linked to that, probably the usual random point in a year thing

Hrm, it's never good hearing that conflict revived. Israel must be feeling very uncomfortable.

  • 04.02.2011 10:21 PM PDT

well, seems the NATO Friendly Fire incident was on the Rebels, they started shooting in the air and NATO thought they were pro Gadaffi trying to shoot them down.

but i have unconfirmed reports of pro Gadaffi AA guns shooting from the region trying to bait NATO jets toward the rebels position.

England has sent a Diplomatic team to meet with Libyan Rebels

Rebels are slowly losing control of Misrata. this is bad... real bad...

i still have no information about the position of the USS Bataan Amphibious Battlegroup

Not surprising. Seems like a good opportunity for conflict to happen in Israel/Palestine since there are other priorities in the middle east now.

Honestly though, I can't see these revolutions in the Middle East working out for Israel in the future. All bias aside, the toppling regimes in the Middle East were been paid off by the United States to keep them "Pro Israel." Hard to see a situation safe for Israel arising out of Middle Eastern democracy. This is why the United States supports democracy with words but supports dictatorship in action.

Protests have broken out against the Government in Afghanistan, which could make the taliban stronger.

well, who's left Pakistan and Indonesia right?

well, Saudi Arabia doesn't have any protests against its government right?

we need to get a proper list...

Seems like Libya has gone to a stalemate, and things are going the diplomatic way now

they will either fail, or we will be stuck with a East and West Libya.

and i think Gadaffi may be preparing a Chemical Attack on Misrata, just a feeling though...
