"What's up baby, how are you doin'? I hate the sound of my own voice and I been invited here to distract my self from the fact that I wrote all of this garbage."

I heard some guy tried to get a message through Al-Jazeera to tell NATO to bomb Tripoli Street in Misrata because it's entirely occupied.

AC-130 inbound!

Yeah, because it's just a videogame to you, right?

Honestly though, NATO should not and in all likelihood will not fight on behalf of the rebels. NATO is there just to prevent a mass genocide like we had at Rwanda, not make one side win.

Bold assumption there buddy, but if NATO does in fact attack Tripoli street they may very well be using AC-130s and as such, they would be inbound.

So if you're done being an ass we can talk about Libya now.

if they take this intel seriously, they will probably send in F-18/Harrier smart bomb teams. AC-130s aren't ideal for anti armour in urban areas.

using two fighters to make a smart bomb run(one plane paints the target, the other one bombs) is more likely.

The occupied areas in Misurata are occupied by artillery and mortar teams that are attacking hospitals and clinics. That sounds like a NATO target to me

Well, yeah, but that's kind of what I meant. The whole idea of the intervention force is to disable Gadafi's ability to overwhelm the rebels with superior weapons, i.e., make it a fair fight. Or at least, make it fair enough that you don't have a complete massacre on one side.

exactly. The NATO forces will destroy anything that is attacking civilians, and will attack anything that is considered 'heavy weapons'

Mortar, Tank and artillery fire on Misurata has shifted from a random pattern to directly targeting clinics and buildings being used as hospitals.

it is to my understanding that they almost hit a Humanitarian Aid Ship on friday

oh it's being reported on.

There isn't much News on Syria as Syria is a closed isolationist country, so not much gets out of the country.

Bahrain, looks like the King is starting to fold to protesters, much like Mubarak did in Egypt, but is still trying to stop protests.

Yemen is a different story all together. Their uprising is an old hatred between the North and South of the country and is the difference between the Sunni and Shiite clans. There is a catch here too for weather we should or should not support that uprising, as terror organizations have publicly declared they are supporting the Yemeni uprising, and despite him being a dictator, the Yemeni president has been a staunch ally in the war on terror, suppressing al-Qaeda operations quite effectively.

not to suprising, UN resolution 1975 applied the same terms against Cote L'Ivoire rebels as they did against Gaddafi in Libya with resolution 1973, it will be interesting to see where it goes.

it hasn't been getting as much attention as Libya as the 'good guys'(read the people with UN support) are winning, just not as fast as the UN would like, as civilians are still dying.

It's also worth noting these are the first two time the UN has used the Responsibility to Protect(a Canadian idea) to enforce sanctions on other countries. It's a big step as the UN had no military might behind it's words in the past, and now it is showing the world it actually can work as a world 'government' or law maker, with the ability to enforce it's decisions

US is now OFFICIALLY in a support role to NATO, and is no longer conducting strike missions in Libya.

NATO continues to have their support if needed, with strike craft available if requested.

Also, Malta has agreed to work as a mediator between Gaddafi, the UN and the Rebels, under the condition that Gaddafi forces must first lay down their arms.

good thing i changed my views on the U.N.

until i saw how many of the last few hundred got passed, i thought they didn't get anything done.

but i don't think NATO can do much more for the Rebels, isn't NATO stretched thin because of Afghanistan?

not so much, Afghanistan is now more a Coalition of the Willing than a NATO operation

looks like negotiations may end up being the way this ends. The Libyan Government is saying they are ready to hold elections, a referendum, or any other reform to it's political system
