oh me too, but it's worth hoping

well they want one of Gadaffi's sons to be in charge for the transition, and i don't think the rebels want that
nor do I, but at least if they go to the negotiating table it's possible to work something out.

If you stumble accross major information not in the OP, I implore you to please post it in the forum and make others aware.

Please do not Bump unless it is accompianied by discussion or new information, as we do not want to have this thread locked.

Thank you.

Fun fact, alot of Libyan rebels are Taliban. Tali's been trying to use the rebellion in their favor like they did after the Soviet invasion so they can take control of Libya and paint a better reputation of themselves on everyone.

The Taliban are only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. You are thinking of Al-Qaeda. Even then there aren't many Al-Qaeda fighters in the rebel army.
Actually that's incorrect. Taliban movement has been observed in many of these trouble spots.

I want to see evidence that the Taliban are located in other countries.

They're only supporting them because they're from the same religious sect. Meanwhile they still brutally crush protesters in their own country.

NATO has taken up preforming heavy airstrikes on entrenched Gaddafi forces in Brega and Misurata. They say that Misurata is a priority as they have taken so much punishment in the past weeks.

The Rebel held city of Az Zawiyah(west of Tripoli) where the Rebels had held out against Gaddafi forces for weeks has fallen. Gaddafi forces have apparently Razed the Mosque that the rebels had used as a base, and the graveyard where the rebels had buried their dead.

The rebels have started manufacturing their own weapons in a captured weapons factory in eastern Libya, they also are stripping weapons from grounded aircraft to attach to the back of trucks to be used as anti tank weapon platforms.

There is a live press conference in Benghazi with the National Transitional Council.

looks like the rebels are getting truly organized.

sorry, it is with the leader of the military arm of the rebels not the political arm.

He is very publicly, making the direct request for further intervention from NATO, saying not to wait, to act immediately, as if they wait another week they fear Misurata will fall.

he says that they try and give positions of Gaddafi forces to NATO, but NATO reaction is so slow that they arrive to late for them to be of help to the rebels.

They also have captured several aircraft that due to the no-fly zone, they are unable to use against the tanks the planes are designed to attack.

He says that though NATO has stopped Gaddafi air superiority, they have not done anything that the rebels have asked for since.
