I really miss this old thing. Back in the day, when you wanted a room cleared, you tossed in a fragmentation grenade. Most often, nothing would be left moving. Massive blast radius, and effective against everything. Even diving away often didn't save you.

And then we have Reach's "frag" grenade. I'm not sure they understand that "frag" is short for "fragmentation". With a 2 foot blast diameter, bouncing like a superball, it's quite laughable. Even worse, you can toss it into a mob of enemies, and they all just dive away.

It's a sad day when you miss when function, not appearance or opinion, was the priority of game development.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Don't remind me of the fragmentation nukes. They were awesome for some Flood huntin', but horrible when used against you.

Agreed. But good news, 343 is remastering Halo CE. Hopefully they don't messed it up. But nothing can beat the Original Classic.

The Halo: Reach grenade makes exactly the same quantity of damage, to a shielded player, as the Halo: CE grenade...

The only difference is the game mechanics themselves, now, armor abilities change how it all worked since you can armor-lock, evade, or sprint. But grenades are, on the basic level, the same as CE's.

In matchmaking, maybe.

Throw a grenade at a large group of enemies on Heroic in campaign or firefight. You might get one, maybe two kills. A smaller blast radius means they can all dive away every time.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Not since the beta, the Reach frags were as powerful, but they have not been since the game went gold. The difference is slight, but the effects are undeniable.

Man I remember throwing frags in CE with my Spartans super Elway arm, good times.

Yeah if you're talking about using them outside of multiplayer I totally get what you're saying. In Reach when you throw a grenade nothing really happens as all; literally every single one, will dive out of the way. Ugh, it's really annoying to be honest.
