These maps are canon.
The campaign is not.

  • 03.18.2011 11:31 AM PDT

Multiplayer, in general, is not canon. However that does not mean the locations/maps are not canon.

So yes, the maps can be canon, and the campaign is canon.

There were quotes where bungie said all maps are canon, but offcourse gameplay and weapon placements aren't.

Yea,this video luckily confirms the blue and Red missions still happened.

I liked the video in general, but couldn't help but lol at the machinima parts featuring Chief and the battle in the highland mountains.

Worst. Machinima. Ever.

How so? What did your post have anything to do with my point?

More importantly, did you even watch the video OP posted?

You're saying that the mission to the Circumference must have happened because of the map Condemned, correct? That doesn't change a thing in the slightest, the Autumn was still on Reach and not in space - where it should have been.

I feel stupid feeling the need ask you for the last time, but did you just NOT listen the guy in the video who was detailing the events from the game AND novels at the same time?

It's not that he's saying it, it's that it can't be possible. -_-

Yes, it certainly can be. I even double checked it.

0616 Hours: The SPARTAN-IIs are dispatched from the Pillar of Autumn. John-117, Linda-058, and James form Blue Team and go aboard the Dock to destroy the Circumference, while the remaining SPARTAN-IIs form Red Team and head down to the surface of Reach to defend the power generators for the MAC guns. James goes MIA when a Needler hits his thruster pack and propels him into space during combat. Blue Team continue through the station, rescuing Staff Sergeant Johnson; Private O'Brien, Private Bisenti, and Pvt. Wallace A. Jenkins from Kig-yar and Sangheili.

0647 Hours: The Pillar of Autumn attempts to retreat from the system, but remains there for unknown reasons and heads for a drydock at the Aszod ship breaking yards on Reach, possibly.

1652 hours: The remainder of Noble Team head to the Aszod ship breaking yards to deliver a fragment of Cortana, which holds important navigation data, to the Pillar of Autumn. SPARTAN-B312 successfully delivers the package to the Autumn and allows the vessel to escape by destroying an incoming Covenant battlecruiser. The Pillar of Autumn, pursued by a dozen Covenant vessels, retreats from the system, heading for Installation 04.

Pillar of Autumn drops off Blue Team, Blue Team goes through their mission, and the Pillar of Autumn either picks them up and goes to Aszod or goes to Aszod and picks them up.

So the Autumn drops off the Spartans at the Circumference, floats around for a bit, then recieves orders to go down to Reach and retrieve the Cortana fragment.

Then I am supposed to believe that the Autumn is on Reach for literally about 5 minutes, despite the fact it's not rated for atmosphere and is completely powered down in a Covenant warzone where there are swarms of Covenant air patrols? Then the Autumn immediately flees to Halo, it did not stop off at the Circumference to pick John and Linda up because it's stated that it fled immediately.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

That video was so canon to the storyline. Read "Halo: The Fall of Reach".

And yet Cortana still had landing sequences for the Autumn. And honestly, what does "rated for atmosphere" mean? Rated to engage the enemy in combat? Land and then take off again?

Maybe "Not hindered." or flies like the frigates do.

In all honesty, they never say.

The Marines on The Ark made a big deal about asking if Forward Unto Dawn was rated for atmosphere too and it was a frigate.

Ah I've forgotten how much I missed the original Halo soundtrack.

This is what I though to.

Anyway yeah it doesn't really fix anything. All they do in the video is quote stuff that happened in the book but they don't even bother to mention how it fits time wise with the Pillar of Autumn being already on the planet, among other things.

Still at least it was an attempt to make it fit. Bungie didn't even try.
