Subject: Halo Waypoint explains the canon behind defiant map pack

Inconsistencies remain. But at least they payed homage to what happens in the book, unlike bungie.

Extremely long time fan of Halo and Bungie. More-so Bungie than Halo, I love where you guys started and I love where you are today. Don't worry, 343i will take good care of Halo. I am also on Rooster Teeth at SuckItBleu77, or you may follow my Twitter by the same name, peace out guys, and remember to respect the Seven7th.

Multiplayer maps aren't necessarily canon, the gameplay isn't atleast, as Sangheili, you can fly out into space on Noble: Anchor 9, so it depends on the map.

...despite the fact it's not rated for atmosphere and is completely powered down in a Covenant warzone where there are swarms of Covenant air patrols?

It amuses me that - much like people raging with a single number given in a book written a decade ago - one line from the games has forever damned UNSC ships. Is it ever mentioned in the books?

However, isn't it possible that ships become rated for atmosphere? For instance, the Pillar of Autumn would have a poor Atmospheric Rating, requiring the use of thruster packs to attain enough lift to leave the atmosphere. Perhaps with Frigates, they are rated for atmosphere (as we see them flying in-atmosphere in both Halo 2 and Halo 3,) and the Marines questioning the fact were simply ignorant.

Then the Autumn immediately flees to Halo, it did not stop off at the Circumference to pick John and Linda up because it's stated that it fled immediately.

And they could not have possibly been brought to Aszod via Pelican, right? I find this to be the most logical explanation, as John-117 is seen on the Pillar of Autumn in the cutscene of that level.

I agree with everything you said but the Master Chief cutscene was merely an easter egg

I think it was an "Easter Egg" only in the sense that you had to actively search for it; as an Easter Egg hunt. We know John-117 and Linda-058 to be on the Pillar of Autumn, and while an "Easter Egg" we can safely assume that they were on board when the Autumn took off from Aszod.

Now you can stop moaning about ''omg, blue team's circumference never happened cos the autumn was on reach and not in space''.

Multiplayer =/= canon
Actually every Halo Multiplayer map is suppose to be an actual location in the Halo Universe, whether the characters go there or not.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

It all makes sense now, Thanks for showing the vid...

CoD is a good game, even if the Halo series are better in some aspects. Anyone who insults either is just bad in that game. Grow up.

Ah I've forgotten how much I missed the original Halo soundtrack.

This is what I though to.

Anyway yeah it doesn't really fix anything. All they do in the video is quote stuff that happened in the book but they don't even bother to mention how it fits time wise with the Pillar of Autumn being already on the planet among other things.

Still at least it was an attempt to make it fit. Bungie didn't even try.

This. I don't care if the events happened or not, I care about how they are supposed to happen with the new storyline, which the video still doesn't explain.
