i have been playing halo pc for a good year now, and for christmas i just got a 256mb 6800gt, i used to have a 5700le, and there's a definate improvement on graphics, and my fps is now at 60fps (the maximum) the entire time..

anyways.

my problem, when i get camo on you can tell that my guy is invisible, but its not the invisible its suppose to be.. like mine is just see through, but what its suppose to be (my friend has a crappier video card, but his camo looks better).. like where its bubblier and watery...

anyone know what could cause this, or how i could fix this? thanks a lot..

if you want i could put a screenshot comparision if you're confused

Nvidia cards have a history of having -blam!- up camo renderings. Your friend may have had an ATi card.

kinda off topic but i installed halo again last night after about a year of not playing it. at that time i had an old crappy nvidia card and the game ran ok it had 128mb or ram. since then i upgraded to a ati radeon 9800xt with 256mb of ram and now when i try to load the game i get an error saying cannot access direct3d please use dxdiag to find problem

well i use that and it says everything is working and up to date

so i check out microsofts faq and find that the game has problems running on certain cards that are 256mb because when the game was made 128 was the norm and it it doesnt see 128 then it will just act like there isnt a card there. has anyone else experienced this? my card plays all other games fine such as call of duty 1 and 2 and far cry and such so this is a bit new to me

It's nvidia drivers that cause this problem. However, there was a way to fix it, at the cost of being unable to see text properly. in short, you will be unable to talk to people, or even know who killed who, when they killed him, and whom you killed. do want this fix?
