no and i dont think it will, way too much work, and the framerates would be terrible. it would turn an amazing game bad if they tried to do that

XBL would be pretty cool but cable link or split screen would be cool on halo it just would have to be a little harder than one player and more enimies.

I sincerely hope not. While I have three other guys I hang with all the time I just know it would be bad idea technically.

I want them to push the number of polygons in single and two player co-op play to the limit. Four players would just mean half as many enemies onscreen. Half as many enemies, twice as many Spartans... It would be hilariously easy to mow them all down with four players.

Four players would just drag down the game for everyone.

Sure, but you'd still be limited by the number of polygons available on screen.

I'm telling you. I'd love the idea but think on the "Two Betrayals" level when you encounter the army at the end. Now, cut the number of them in half and add two more buddies to your group. No matter how tough you make your enemies it's still not going to be the same.

i dont think it would ruin the game cuz there would still be good 2 player coop... just the added option of crappy 4 player coop...

Now, four player online co-op... that I just don't know. You'd solve the polygon count problem but you gain a bandwidth one. That might... who knows, be possible. It would probably work over a closed LAN with a router but over internet... *shrugs*

I'd like it. Get four x-boxes and go do the co-op campaign in all it's glory on Legendary... that would be sweet.

The only reason they think co-op over the internet is so hard is because they're working with split-screen standards. Has anyone here played the Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life? They sacrifice some realism in the level design (not much), but still manage to have up to 16 player co-op.

I thought 4 player split-screen co-op had been confirmed for Halo 2? I wouldn't mind if the levels and enemies had low poly counts - I play Halo for fun, not eye candy. After playing Far Cry on maximum graphical settings, anything the Xbox can pump out looks like Pac-Man in comparison (and you can bet it's going to get even worse for the box once HL2 and Doom 3 come out), so it's no loss for me.

i didnt read every post so im sorry if someone already said this, i think it would be cool to have co-op (2 players or more if they do that) but instead of having it be just split screen, they should allow it to do it with a link cable also

Your forgetting that the new MC has a lower poly count than the old one.... and still looks 7 times better, read the updates...
