There once was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died.

The end.

What do you think happens to Master Chief at the end of Halo 3? Where does he go, what planet does he land on, does he ever get rescued, etc.

I think Master Chief lands on a ancient forerunner homeworld and he discovers the forerunners and all of their technology.

I would post this in the Halo 3 forums but those forums are inactive.

I would guess that he crashes on a forerunner shield world and discovers the forerunners.

I very much doubt it's a shield world.

Remember the one thing that th MC had that the other Spartans didn't?
Luck.
He'll likely of drifted for years, frozen, until he's eventualy found, or wakes up in the skelington on his ship. The remainder of the power powering the cryo pod failing.
He'll be in the new order of things, the planet will of been inhabited by factions from the Covenant, he'll be pushed into a new war, but this war will be different.
After the fall of the Covenant, the knoledge of the covenant technology fell with the prophets (can't remember the races name >.<), leaving the races to devolve, the only race to trully understand space travel being the Jackels. (not including enginears).
So now the humans will be the dominant species. But the Prophets will return, there race simply disapeared after the fall, so they'd retreated, only to return a new with new technology's.
The war would be chaotic, factions with humans and against them, nothing but a confused mess of combat untimatly. The story would revolve around uniting them all and creating a new covenant. The humans leading everything.

My 10 cents. ^.^

what if he has been floating for hundreds of years, and the planet that looks forerunner is actualy a human planet, where the human technology has advanced to the state that the forerunners were at through discovering their tech.

That would be the worst plot to ever happen in Halo.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I would love something like that, the power remaining in the ship could be used to power the Chiefs Cryo pod and a story where the UNSC stumble upon him would be awesome.

Leaving the obvious loose end of Cortana, who would be hundreds of years old and (in her state of rampancy) may well shut down John's cryo tube out of rage.

lol fat chance, the majority of the prophet race came to installation 05 before the ring was activated and abruptly stopped, they're being executed by the remaining elite fleet in the vicinity. Have you read the bestiarium? Also, with the animated comic on halowaypoint about some elite, we have a pretty clear image of what's going on with the covenant after the war.

Mendicant Bias said he was gonna send the Chief to the Forerunners.Legendary planet seems to be inhabited by Forerunners, just look at those symbols.

The Forerunners left the milky way galaxy,so i think it's safe to say Bias sended the Chief to some unknown galaxy.

Those are my 10 cents :)

I was quoting what I read in 'The Return' from Halo Evolutions volume II for the info on the Prophets. Yes they'd of been executed, yes many would of gone to instilation 05, but where would they of gone after all of that? There's still the original oposing faction of the race that the current Prophets fled from with the Dreadnaught.
But meh, as I said, only my 2 cents from the top of my head.
I'm pretty sure the online comic is actualy 'the return' think I watched the first bit a while ago >.<.

No, the only San 'Shyuum alive were the Reformists who fled from their home planet in the Dreadnaught and repopulated. The San 'Shyuum homeworld was destroyed when the local star went supernova.

I know exactly what happens to the Master Chief at the end of Halo 3.

He floats slowly towards a mysterious planet in cryo sleep in the back section of Forward Unto Dawn.

Awwww.... nuts.... gotten out of touch with the Halo universe >.<.
Still though, the next game will have something to do with the splintered factions of the Covenant. ^.^
Providing the rumours of Halo4 are true... they'd better give it a good story.

KOTOR Join the Dark Side...we have cookies!~

I believe that Master Chief lands on a planet with a coffee shop. He goes into the coffee shop and sees Jorge their. =p In all seriousness it will probably have to do with the forerunners.

I disagree, even if she is rampant, which I don't believe, Cortana would not do anything to hurt Chief, the two share a special bond, and if an AI cares enough about something, they kinda stave off rampancy or keep it at bay in regards to what they're so devoted to. Like Juliana (I think her names was) in Cole Protocol, she was rampant, but she kinda kept it at bay due to her devotion to guarding the Rubble and the Innies that were living there. So no, I very highly doubt that Cortana would kill Chief, unless she had to, IE something like the Flood getting him.
