Spoiler Alert: If you have yet to complete and see the endings to Halo 3 & Halo Wars, turn away now.

Greetings, Fellow Halo Fans.

First off, I'd just like to say that if this has already been discussed, (which, it probably has), forgive me.

For those of you who recall the ending to Halo 3, Master Chief and Cortana where on the back end of Forward Unto Dawn, which failed to make it through the Portal. Via the Legendary Ending, you can see the back end of the ship floating through space, and slowly drifting towards an unknown planet in uncharted space.

Let us jump to Halo Wars. During the ending Cutscene, we see that the crew of Spirit of Fire is entering Cryo-sleep, and the ship is (also) drifting around in uncharted space. (The reason for this, to refresh your memory, is because they used their FTL-Core, what allows the ship to jump into slip-space, to destroy the planet with the Forerunner ships activated by the Covenant.)

Hmm.. Coincidence?

Lets take a closer look. Shall we?

First up, Halo 3. Here is a picture of the Planet: Link.

Can we get that a little brighter please? It's kinda dark! Link.

Closely examine the symbols on the planet. Here are some Forerunner Symbols. Link.

Clearly, the planet is marked with Forerunner Symbols.

Onto Halo Wars! Now, the Spirit of Fire is drifting around in uncharted space, not specifically towards one planet, but it is in uncharted space.

There is a difference of 21 years between these two events.

Here is a theory, that some friends and I have discussed: What if both the Spirit of Fire, and the back half of Forward Unto Dawn end up drifting towards the same Planet? Perhaps both the crew of Spirit of Fire team up with Master Chief and Cortana after they land on the Planet?

The Legendary Ending of Halo Wars, is Serina saying, "Wake up, Something has happened." Obviously, we do not know what happened, or is happening. This was left at a cliff hanger for a possible sequel. Adding this to my theory, Serina could be talking about picking up the distress signal of Chief and Cortana on Forward Unto Dawn.

Perhaps, 343 Industries, will take these two events, and tie them together?

Just a theory.

Discuss?

Sounds oddly like my theory I posted in the 343 forums on Halo.xbox.com. It is the same theory in fact.

Still, it is a good one, and it seems perfectly logical to assume. Can't wait for Halo 4 :D

I'm using a somewhat similar idea in my Halo fanfic, this is probably a somewhat common theory. It could work out as a game, though I think they'll be kept separate though.

Is it? I've never actually been to any of 343's forums.. Haha.

Sounds cool! I'm sure it is quite common. It would make a great game; hopefully 343 will do that. It may stay separate, but we've got both Ensemble and 343. One of they may at some point, pick up on this, and do a work on it.

What spectagon are you in?

It would interesting if they did that. It would also be a good way to tie the stories together.

Agreed, though I don't really see it happening.

Also, would they keep the game as an RTS or switch to the success of the FPS genre?
