Subject: This. Game. Is. Epic.

Ok so I have been playing reach for a while, So when I went over to ODST i had forgotten a little bit how it was. And it occurred to me, this game is friggin epic! the story is so deep and just makes me care about the city. How many others agree with me that this game is highly UNDER rated?

"This is not a war, but a campaign for extermination"- X11

Yeah I agree and every person that thinks ODST is trash should be glassed

Exactly my friend, Exactly

I'll admit, it was a great campaign and it likely deserves more play-throughs than I gave it.

It's like a gigantic snowball, rolling down a mountain, eating kids on the way.

I agree. The campaign just had something that very few other games have.

odst firefight had no online matchmaking. there was no online MP period. i would play it more if it had MP. like in reach or 3

i think ODST is awesome too, if only the campaign whas longer, it would be even more awesome.

  • 03.20.2011 11:06 PM PDT

The campaign is way better than Reach. I thought the Reach campaign would be like this but much more epic, but it was the opposite. I cared so much more for the characters and story in ODST. The mood in the city was not like anything I have felt in any other game, apart from maybe Bioshock, but for slightly different reasons. It is a massively underrated game and I think the general negative response scared Bungie into re-thinking Reach, IMO for the worse.

I agree, the campaign was done so good.
I has everything a nice halo game should have.
And the atmosphere was just so great.

when reach came out i did not care much for odst and thought it was boring but when my internet exploded i put ODST in and hated myself for ever thinking it was bad.

the story was great and deep as said above

i cared alot about my team mates unlike reach.when romeo got hit with the hammer i was like NOOOO he must live.when kat died i was like MEH.

i actually feel like im the rookie and thats a feeling i did not get in reach.

Carter<Buck

romeo>Jun(even though jun is my favorite sparten in reach i like romeo more)

george>mickey *flame suit on*

dutch>emile

kat<Dare(no sh**)

virgil>master cheif

my point is...ODST kicked reach's ass at story, but i do like reach firefight more

Online multiplayer for this would be epic, the health pack system would actually be relevant.

Now day...wait...nvm i'm tired.

Love ODST all the people who hate on it must suck at it, or are retarded. (Nothing against the mentally challenged)

Toothpaste Jetpacks..... it's gonna happen someday.....

There is something in the game that makes me feel very akward all the time for some strange reason, but overall it's one of my favorite games.

Reach's story is very good, especially if you read "The Fall of Reach." It draws much on dark themes dealing with genocide.

ODST's story is more narrative and more focused on mystery and the sense of being alone.

Both though have good quality.

This Soffish do not eat.

Yes, ODST was an excellent game, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Campaign. I'll play it again over Easter or summer probably!

Mreh.

Yes, I went back get some achievements so I could unlock armour from Halo Waypoint, I feel like I didn't give the game that fair a chance when I originally played it.

ODST was amazing. Beautiful graphics and a beautiful city.

The story was outstanding, and seeing that assault cruiser come up close and just glass the planet was devestating.

Sadies story was great. I was really sad near the end. That's the most I've ever wanted to do something in a video game. During my first playthrough, my thoughts were: "FIND THE NEXT AUDIOLOG NAO!"

If they made an ODST 2, and made it basically the same, I would buy it. I'm just afraid that if they made ODST 2, they would change it too much.

Also, Music? Fantastic. Really set the mood of the game.

You know who I am.

It's pretty good I'll admit. But out of all the halo games made, ODST had the WORST voice acting. I can't say I liked any of them (including the Rookie.)

Exactly how I felt. In this game you felt vulnerable. You had to make a strategy for every encounter (on the higher difficulties) due to the fact that you were so vulnerable and the weapons you had weren't the greatest. The music fit the mood perfectly as well adding to the effect. The side story gave you incentive to explore the city and take risks going into a heavily patrolled area even though it would easier to find a way around.

It definitely deserved more praise than it got.

Also I may be the only one who feels this way but I had a lot more fun playing Fire Fight in ODST with my friends than I do right now in Reach, even with all the options available.

  • 03.21.2011 7:39 PM PDT

There was something about ODST's firefight I preferred as well...

I dunno what, in reach there are way more options but for some reason I don't feel driven to mess around with them much other than run around as invincible, it might be more fun in the custom games in MM but I always seem to lag when there is more than 2 people...

I preferred the maps in ODST that must be it, and I think the fact that the grunts spoke english made bonus rounds more enjoyable...

And reach doesn't have a single vehicle based map... I want a map that compares to lost platoon...

"Shutup dude you're like 42 years old"

It was and is actually pretty fun. I've been playing it lately because Reach blows.

My name is Cameron. I've played Halo since the good old days of Halo 2. I play mostly shooters and rpg's. No I do not want to join your group, clan, guild, fan club etc. Check my profile for a link to my YouTube page.

The main issue I had for this game was that I didn't even feel like an ODST. I felt like a tired spartan. It was too easy and didn't require as much strategy as I hoped. Also the campaign took 3-4 hours. Ridiculously short for a $60 game.
